Yes a "good"war will certainly do that!Short of an event or more, like the 'flu that swept the world at the end of WW1 it's about the only thing that will.

I believe there are quite a few cars either current or due out soon that have ten speed boxes, iirc the Lotus Carlton/Omega with it's six speed manual pulled 44mph per 1,000revs in top,so not so far off your Jag Opti.

Someone once said "While ever there are two people alive on Earth there will be a war"Sadly Lizzie I seriously doubt there will ever be peace on Earth people just like killing each other too much to stop.

General Car Chat / Re: Old batteries- do they have a scrap value?
« on: 03 January 2018, 18:45:34 »
Some years ago they were worth about a fiver apiece in scrap, don't know if you can still get that these days.Pikeys will have them for the lead and not being overly health and safety conscious they'll not worry over much about the acid in them.

Looks very nice indeed :y Would have to agree with JDX about a rear spoiler,I think all Omegas saloons and estates need one to "finish"them.I don't know whether it's because I'm not used to seeing them but to me the Opel grille looks classier than the Vauxhall one.

When I first saw this on the news I wondered if it was an Omega power sounder that'd set it going ::) ;D Thankfully no-one was injured and the horses that were also there were led to safety :)

Eldest daughter is on her 2nd Aygo[petrol]and loves them, but in fairness it does suit her short town hop driving.Son-in-law[her husband]is on his 2nd Auris hybrid and loves those :o Other son-in-law had an Ultima[?]diesel-import version of Previa anyway-that thing was a total pile of cack!I once had a late '70's[I think]2L Cressida saloon,I think that was built of rust and body filler ;D it was pretty comfy, had a reasonable turn of speed for what it was and mechanically it just wouldn't die,but it was so,so boring to drive it had no "soul" :-[
