Omega General Help / Re: V6 Cambelt replaced
« on: 03 May 2015, 07:48:28 »
Yep, Daz is a top Bloke and one of a few I would trust with my baby to  :y. Attention to detail and care in working on the car like its his own is commendable.

Just done the A/C condenser and drier for me, and previously did rocker cover gaskets last time around, then Wishbones, then oil cooler, then Cambelt  :D

Yep, lives Stoke way  :y

If your thinking of buying that condenser, make sure it comes complete with the dryer,as they show it separately, which the omega doesn't do. Should come fitted.

I have a 15 year old GM one going free  ;D ;D ;D

Those two front fans for the condenser also do a great job of keeping the temp stable in stop start traffic in the summer.  :y

:y Definitely  :y  Temp rock solid now.

Touch something wooden, and that is all the niggles on the old Girl sorted  :y

Freshly washed & waxed again and the old girl scrubs up well  :)  Better go and tuck her up in the garage under her blanket  ;)

Brackets are ok on the linked replacement and cooling rad goes in and out no problem - just slight bend required in pipes from the drier to match those on the car  :y

Hope goes well.  Here is the original one which was removed from mine  :D  I recon I got my money's worth after 15 years !!!

I think I found why the A/C was not as "Cold" as it used to be !!!!!  Not shown up as good on pic, but bottom left patch is bright GREEN !!!

New one fitted as identical, even down to the GM Delphi hologram sticker and Part number :)  Car ICE cold now I need my coat to driver her   8)

I went for this LINK condenser which also comes with the drier bought this one on a recommendation on OOF, Works out at £84 delivered with 2 years warranty.

Can't say how well it fits yet but if the weather behaves I may have a go tomorrow seen as everything apart from the condenser has been removed from the car. The new condenser does look to be of good quality, Says made in Taiwan, Least it's not China!

Will update on how it goes  :y

Good luck getting the rad out an in past the new condenser  ;)

Yeah I saw your post Dr. GM condensor and drier recommended? Expensive?

I dropped lucky on the bay of flea.  Original GM Delphi £160.  Has identical GM sticker and part number, and drier, to the original one took off car.  Original one had disintegrated  :D. Will post PIC later.  Got my moneys worth.  Stealer were quoting me just under £400 for the Condenser ONLY and specially order from sausasge land.  It did include the drier to be fair  :D

Was a bit more than non gm one, but not that much more and dream to fix as brackets identical.  Daz worked his magic again  :y

I believe so.  :y

Just had new condenser & drier on mine and climate control now working as should  :y

Two fans at front on all time with Climate /Air Con.  I believe it keeps the engine temp at a steady setpoint as when my A/c was not working engine temp certainly more variable and seemed to drift up if in traffic to then come down as single engine rad fan then kicked in.

With the climate on (best to leave on all time in my opinion)  the two A/c condenser fans seemed to keep air flow on engine rad  and keeps temp more stable.

New A/C Condenser and drier fitted today.

BIG thanks to Daz for fitting.  Getting a new GENUINE GM one much easier fitting  :y

All re gasssed and now it bloody FREEZING in the car now  :D. Got it set to LO all time now because I can !!!!

Idles nice and temp rock solid now with Climate fans now running  :y

Hopefully I can get another 15 years out of this condenser !!!!!

Omega General Help / Re: Double Locking
« on: 06 April 2015, 09:35:41 »
My double locking doesn't work anymore. And I've done that reprogramming many times, won't work. Is there some common issues with this and answers ?
Drivers door switch ??

If all except drivers door are opened and closed then it will not let Deadlock until Drivers door opened & shut.  Assume safety feature to prevent deadlocking people in car  ;D

Maybe sticky drivers door switch ?

and any suggestions as to best place online to buy.  :y

I have used http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ several time now over the years.  Competitive price and they come to your door and fit them.  Man with van has all the gear and you only pay the chap when fitted and happy.

I have a new set of Uniroyal's (Rainsport 3) and very happy with them.  The 4 wheel geometry set up probably helped  :y

I asked about condensor and seals at local VX today, both available from Germany. I recommend you take a seat before you get the condensor price though!

Yep, I went to ask about condenser to - yep special order from Germany and £350 ish from what I recall before all went blank !!!!! :D

I am after the seals (for connection from pipes to condenser/drier unit) so will pop to dealer.  Hopefully they are a bit cheaper  :y

I managed to get my paws on a new Genuine delphi GM condenser and Drier so will pop new seals on pipes  :y

Assume cooling Rad needs to be out to replace AC condenser.

Omega General Help / Re: Changing Condensor - O Rings
« on: 29 March 2015, 20:12:30 »
Anyone know the VX part number? as per usual going by them they don't sell just the seals  ::)

I would interested in Part number as I need some for a new Condenser and Drier  :)

If I find out from my trip to StDealers I shall let you know.

Assume just two needed where two AC pipes bolt to drier pipes.  Condenser came with Drier fitted (OEM Delphi GM one so hoping simple to fit  :y)
