In fact, I'll go further. Omegas are unsafe/unstable in the wet and are only good for speed in a straight line. You may say that, if you know how to handle them, they are perfectly safe and great fun to drive. Unfortunately, most people don't know how to handle a large, rear wheel drive car, esp. in the wet. It is, as you know, a totally different driving style and out of all the RWD cars around, the omega needs your full attention more than most.

FFS, don't ever drive a Westfield. ;D

The Omega is about as docile a rear wheel drive car as I've ever driven. More so than my Mum's Volvo 340 which only had about 70 BHP. ;)

Agreed. My Omega is a kitten in the wet. :y
Shame the same can't be said of your wife. ;D

Mrs Opti is a tigress with sharp claws. :-\ :-\ Still, it's not all bad because the sex is always great after a bust up. :y

......but then it is on Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres and not the crappy Michelin primacy 'instant slip' tyres that Vauxhall originally fitted to the car. :y

I'll take Wanli Ditchfinders over Michelin Primacy tyres any day of the week.

That lad wouldn't hurt a fly. ;D ;D ;)

Go on then......who did you vote for?
Apparently, it's against the law for me to broadcast it publicly or to take a selfie in the polling booth. :P

A 'selfie' in the polling booth is far more advisable than 'self abuse' in the polling booth......so I hear. ::) ::) :)

I did nothing.....well almost nothing to provoke her outburst.

I casually mentioned that her younger sister (whom Mrs Opti hates) was an extremely attractive woman and in a different life, well.......... ::) ::) ::) ::) :-* :-*

It was all a blur from this point on.

Women, however long I live, I'll never understand them.

Can one of you fine gentlemen point me in the direction of a screen for a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1HM laptop. It's only 2 months old but the screen is 'donald ducked' and Toshiba have refused to replace it under warranty.

I've looked online, but I want to be sure of getting the right screen.....I believe that it is 15.6 inches.

Is it an easy fix?

Thanks, chaps. :y

Did you buy it direct from Toshiba?? or through a commercial outlet ??

Under the Sale of Goods Act it is the SELLERS responsibility NOT the manufacturers. So take it back to where you bought it from as "unfit for the purpose for which sold". As it is less than 6 months old it is for the SELLERS to prove it is not faulty, not you to prove it is, as faults developing with 6 months are considered to be "within the period of six months starting with the date on which the goods were delivered to the buyer must be taken not to have so conformed at that date. "

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1979/54

Part 5a, section F39 48A (3)

part 5a, section F40 48B (1) & (2)  (note the words "within a reasonable time but without causing significant inconvenience to the buyer" ....:)  )

HTH

EDIT .. the above assumes the screen is faulty .. not broken 'cos you dropped it .....  :(

Thanks, Mr Entwood......and sorry.

I should have explained that Mrs Opti threw the said laptop at me, thus causing the damage. That's women for you. In my humble opinion  most of the weaker sex are generally unhinged :-\ :-\

I asked both the seller and the manufacturer if they would be willing to make a 'goodwill customer service repair'.......their answer was NO.

Crazy bint......it was her personal computer, so she will suffer the consequences of her actions most. ::) ::) ;)

So dropped it off today, confirmed gas and service and diagnostic for £59.

What did I see in the forecourt? A red VXR8  :-* :-* :-* apparently the owner traded it in for a black one. I hear black ones are faster  ::)

Asked to have a sit, I had a good nose over it. Not really had a chance to get up and close to one.

The size of the brake pads  :o - Very meaty, looked dead easy to change, too.

So first impressions? It was a '07 so first generation, manual, cloth seats.

The seats were fantastic, really, really comfy, straight away felt comfy. Nice driving position, dash layout all very nice.

Good space in the back too, the boot was very good. Nice and big for a LPG tank  ::) Looked a little shallow compared to Omega, but defo room for a tank.

£15k, '07, 49k Miles.

Next I wondered over to an Insignia Elite, lots of toys, memory seats ect. But no matter how much seat fiddling, still not getting comfy  :(

You could buy a brace of '07' CLS 500's for the same money. ...which cost close to £70,000 when new. :y

I was right along side him but he showed no interest whatsoever. :-\

To some people a car is simply a car. :-\
