Replace the front pads and discs today, EVEN MANAGED TO GET THE NEW PAD WEAR SENSORS TO CLIP IN WITHOUT THE NEED TO PERSUADE THEM IN TO THE LOCATING HOLE, ;D  emptied the master cylinder of old fluid an bled the front system of air, so far so good, will bleed out all the old fluid from the rears next week, pedal feels much firmer now so all good.
Noticed a rattle from the centre box's on the exhaust and confirmed my susp that the baffles have rotted out but no leak, so an eternal system is on the shopping list ::)

were/are the later ecu's any better or more reliable than the early ones as mine is being silly again as well, as per your post i have stripped it out and cleaned the disc and was better for a while but not for long.
will watch this with intrest.
good luck with your search.

Bought a set of GM pads and discs for the v6 on trade club at NOW VX in weybridge, very helpful counter guy and seemed to know his stuff regarding omega parts. very pleased, just as a enquiery what do others pay for a disc and pads kit on TC. I WAS CHARGED £91.91 PLUS THE DREADED VAT.
Still for got to get a pollen filter(bugger)
