Possibility of a South Eastern meet
« on: 03 July 2013, 06:14:26 »

Hi All,
just wondering if anyone would interested in a joint area  meet in this area?

Thinking along the lines of Essex , East London , Suffolk & even Kent & Norfolk .

In a central  . .  ish location related to these areas .

Weekend is usually better for most  . . .anyone be interested ?

A suggestion would be mid August  :). . . but I cannot do August bank holiday weekend or any of September  :( :(

Post up any interest  & any possible venue suggestions :y : :yy

Another option of course could be to  twist Terberts arm  to do another High wycombe meet before the weather turns  ;D ;D ;D

As that is a central venue to a lot of oof members

Regards, Al

Can't sort a meet at the moment as I am in Dorset till the 15th. July.

However....Saturday the 17th of August could be a possibility. I have booked the Centre for a large evening function for a family member, so the car park should be free during the day.

I will sort the possibilities when I get back if there is support. :y

If a Wycombe meet was to happen on the above date, it would be the day after I get back from my holiday, so would be hit and miss for me  :-\

I would be out for this date to meet some more OOFers. I am the organiser of this years ABS treasure hunt being run on that day that ends on Mersea Island, Essex at a car show being run by the local Lions club.

I totally agree Ken.   we should be able to organise something soon eh?

Although holidays do take their toll on attendance I would think .

If Tony Terbs   does not get anything going for the 17th august , I will probably go along to the car show that Keith b was on about at Mersea Island  ;)

Agreed,we're very lucky to have the possibility of another meet at High Wycombe, but it would also be great if we could find other suitable venues around the south east or even further afield that would attract more owners to venture out as at the moment it's a bit hit and miss on occasions. The other thing that crossed my mind the other day whilst rummaging through my sheds was that there was some good Omega bits that I now wont be using and rather put them on Egay and have my time wasted, why not try to make a big meet like HW a sort of swap meet as well as a general get together as I'm sure that there are other members who have bits and pieces that could be put to good use also.I agree that we have a section on here for selling stuff but perhaps just a couple of times a year we could do something a little different :-\

The big problem, aside from dates, is finding a place that where it would be ok for a pile of Omegas to park for quite a few hours. At the Wycombe meet it was I think 23 Miggys for most of the day. But this was a private venue. Not easy.

Although I was the OP on this thread ,  it has now been confirmed by Terbert  that the High Wycombe meeting is on for the  17th August.

So no need to organise anything else for the time being  IMO.

I would suggest that those of you who were looking for an "South Eastern " area meet , try your best to attend the Wycombe meet

as these are really enjoyable & usually have a  high turn out .

Thanks to Tony Terbert for saving me the trouble of trying to organise something else  :y :y :y :y
