slight water leak

can someone tell me what the component is underneath the reservoir  it has 2 water pipes connected to it and an electrical feed on one end

Underneath the coolant bottle? It's a float sensor to tell you if you coolant ever gets too low  :y

I think you're referring to the aux coolant pump for when you want heating in the car, but the engine is stopped eg when you're waiting for SWMBO outside tesco/etc Not all cars have it .... my cruise control is there
