3.2 Saloon Black 198k
« on: 03 November 2014, 21:13:00 »

For Sale:

2001(Y) Vauxhall Omega ELITE 3.2 V6.
Metallic Black, Saloon, Automatic Transmission.  198k Miles.
Full Grey Leather Interior
Heated Front and Rear Seats (All Working)

You all know the spec on these, so I won’t bore you any further.

The car starts and stops as it should, has only let me down once and a new battery sorted it.

There are obviously bad points, and I want to highlight these here.

TYRES: Needs one front tyre (slow puncture) and the rears only have 3mm on them.   Wheels are in good condition but would benefit from a refurb.  You won’t look at them and puke.

BODY:  Rust showing though on the NSR, not the arch, but just lower than the arch, where the lower part of the door meets.  A couple of car-park dents, only noticeable when you really look for them.  Scrape on the OSF Bumper.  Very small leak from Drivers side Pre-Cat

INTERIOR:  A slight blemish on passenger seat, Drivers seat needs a clean.  CD cassette in the 2013 refuses to eject and I do not have the Nav CD.  The Nav CD slot plays CD’s perfectly, and until I lost the Nav CD, the Nav worked perfectly as well.
MECHANICALS:  Needs a Steering Idler.  I replaced it last year for MOT for a pattern part, and it’s shit.  There is a VERY SLIGHT and very annoying INTERMITTENT coolant leak.  I’m adamant it’s the HBV.  I’ve stripped down to the Oil Cooler and it was bone dry, no signs of anything there, no staining, nothing.  When it occurs, the coolant drips down the back of the engine.  There is a known good HBV included with the sale.

SERVICE HISTORY: None, well, none that I can prove.  The car was purchased from another long standing member of this forum.  That was over 18 months ago, and apart from the battery failing, there have been no other issues (normal service parts excluded)

Now for the good points;

Since I have had it, I have made oil changes every 3 months regardless of mileage.  It has had a brand new Bosch Coil Pack on 1,3,5.  Brand new quad NGK’s in March.  Washed weekly, Polished at the same time when the weather was good enough.  Idles lovely, pulls perfectly, runs like a dream.  No noticeable knocks or wobbles from anywhere (apart from the piss poor steering idler).

This is not a minter, it could be.  It needs a bit of TLC and a few quid spent, or (and I hate to say it) break it and make some cash that way.

£430 NO OFFERS.

Car is located in Kingswood, Bristol (BS15).
Will be taxed until the end of the month (or until sold).
My personal insurance will cease as of Midnight Friday/Saturday.

You can drive this car home (wherever you are in the country) and I’m bloody sure it will make it with ease.  Don't believe me, I'll even deliver it for fuel.

Any Questions – Please ask away.

Cambelt was last done <20k.  That was however 4 years ago.

As OOF recommendation, it needs a belt kit.... well, it needs a tensioner, the belt is fine.... but as you are in there!  ;D

I'd be more than happy to deliver it to you Mr EMD, or meet half way for cost of fuel.

The car is cheap, it's cheap because;

I need space.

If I spent £200-£300 and a weekend on it, It would be on AutoTrader for £1,200.

I could put it on AutoTrader now for £600 and I'd get a bite or two.

I'm not interested in ripping people off, and I really don't want it to be converted to manual and bangered, or broke for bits.  I want someone to spend the money on it and make it a good 'un.  Hence the price on here.

This is the car, and this is who I bought it from.

Pictures show pretty much how it is now - Obviously new pictures to follow.

For that money you have got to have it surely Mr. EMD ?   :o  . . . .  Don't let another 3.2 get disected  :'( :'(

Spend a few hundred on it & you know you have a good car  . .  . sorted  :y

I would not worry about the miles personally . . .  in fact if I had a spare wad of cash I would have it but circumstances

won't allow it at present
:'( :'(

I don't think you'll find anything anywhere near your requirements for anywhere near that price . . . 'it's BLACK , it's a 3.2,

it's an ELITE & it just needs a bit of TLC. the only negative to your requirement is the mileage :-\

Go on, dive in ,  you know you want it  ;D ;D

That is a bargain, and 3.2 Elites are thin on the ground these days. :y

Pictures;

Rear Blind works perfectly,
ParkPilot works, but speaker in headlining doesn't.  Currently runs a tweeter cable tied in the boot.
Carpets could do with a shampoo but no rips or burns.

I very much believe so.  The guy who bought it owns a 2.0CDX.  I think he was suitably impressed when he stood on the loud pedal!  ;D
