I've been working on it after work from 6 pm  till now, cam covers fitted, new camshaft seals fitted, new thermostat fitted and that's about it for today. I'm counting on thursday to continue...

Then I saw a leak from thermostat housing... And decided let's get that blo..y tinker out and replace it...It was an unlucky decision as we couldn't replace it without removing the back of cambelt cover off    (Damn and thise blo..y six pots ) just to find that camshaft seals are leaking too

 

Save that oil for burning some oil lights , waste not want not

...just wiping the dust here...I wanted to show a replacement cam covers for my Omega ....the thread will be continued hopefully with best results. I need to order HBV and "O" ring for coolant inlet pipe that goes behind the "V" valley due to minor coolant loss and some black goo for cam covers, I also plan to drop the oil sump and clean an oil strainer to prevent any possible oil starvation. All of this should be done in next two weeks 
















Edges of cam covers are nice and straight - supposedly these have only done 1000 miles before rearended.




And a pic of pretty shiny engine as it is now even though it has slight oil leak but only on motorway runs

Just in the middle oil sump and pick up strainer cleaning ...wasn't too bad IMHO
