« on: 23 April 2018, 23:22:10 »

As above. VX 4 for the price of 3 on TC is long one afaik, so where are people getting their oil from at the moment please ?
Omega isn't quite due yet, but the 190 is overdue, so want to get some soon.

Sorry, wrong section. Should really be in general car chat.  :-[

You will probably find it will be in a 20 litre drum now. Underwoods is closest to you if you want GM oil.
Some are using ECP as they keep having deals

Autovaux have had it on special from time to time, but now i see they are out of stock and the part number has transferred to a Comma product.

Maybe Vauxhall have closed their dedicated refinery :D

Steve

Correction, maybe it is in stock. All depends on how you approach their website. Part No 95599582.

I just go into the local (To work) VX dealer parts depot and ask what the best deal is on 20L 10W40 they can do, usually within  a few pounds of the TC price.

I normally just stock up on the BOGOF Tripple X at ECP or the £8/10 Halfrauds Deal Offers. As long as it works out at £2 or Less per Litre Im happy and easier than messing around with the 20L Containers.

Not many of their items have an actual item page as such, I think it's just the offers. Everything else is listed by part number and has a very brief description

I still use TC oil, but its in the 20l cans (which I decant into 4 5l cans). £24.99 IIRC, might be ex VAT though.  And being TC, that's delivered to my door.

Guessing that works out around £7ish per 5l.  Suits me :)

I don't whether there is any difference between the 5L GM 10/40's sold individually compared to the TC 10/40 20L drums, but the going off the last lot I bought, the 10/40's sold individually was more of a golden colour, whereas the TC is a darker brown.
It might be my imagination, but the TC oil doesn't seem to deteriorate in its appearance over time to same degree (when you check the level on the dipstick) compared with the 5L's.

The spec sheet for both is the same, so I'd imagine they are identical.

Not bought the 5l ones since the 4 for 3 offer ended, so I'm a bit fuzzy, but don't recall any differences.

I would think that GM source their oil from more than one supplier and the colour could vary between them.
