Rear heatshield removal on a 2.2 petrol handbrake cable
« on: 22 August 2018, 10:43:37 »

Can the rear heat shield on a 2.2 petrol 2003 be fully removed when the exhaust is still in place?

Thanks

On a 3.0 all 4 heat shields can be removed with the exhaust and prop still in place - can't see why a 2.2 would be any different.

Whether the securing nuts can be removed without snapping off the studs is a different question, to which the answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no. Chances of getting all of them (12?) off - slim to non existant.

The one above the back box? No, exhaust will need lowering from mountings
