So the step daughter who bought a 6yr old Meriva for more reliability over the 20yr old stuff she used to run[and which then promptly broke]signed up to Economy Energy the day before they went bust :-X :-X I haven't a clue what happened to her as regards another supplier.

She'll be passed onto Ovo Energy like me Baza.  :y

Could it be that a sudden burst of new quality electricity from Ovo killed my thermostat?  :-\  ;D

If you want to test you new electricity: Put a large nail into the positive terminal of a power socket adjacent to a radiator. Wet your left hand. Take hold of the aforementioned nail with your right hand. Place you left hand on the radiator and, as a certain member on here might say 'Report back'.
PS. This will only work if the switch on the power socket is set to 'on'.

Luckily I think that my radiators are all the mandatory 'more than an arms length' distance from my sockets!  :)

Don't be daft, you'll never get 1/2" rod into a socket.

5/32" at most ;D

Now you're all being daft.   ::)

I'll get the extension lead out and if you don't hear from me again, you'll all know that Ovo's electricity is of good quality!  :)
