At least they hit a bus, not another car which would have made it far worse.

I often wonder if the prevalence of car chases where the “ hero” drives with ease against oncoming traffic gives people the idea. Might also have been high on drugs? Lucky no innocent folk were killed.

Well that is two we won't, as tax payers, be keeping in comfort in prison, or be given a suspended sentence to do worse again!

Thank God it appears no innocent parties were hurt. :y

Agree with Liz, they don’t get properly punished even when they’re caught. Just looking at the sentences dished out on the likes of road wars,  interceptors, britcops, it’s no wonder these type keep reoffending.

I have never had any sympathy for joyriders, crims fleeing the police or scrotes in general. It isn,t an age thing either, i,ve held that point of  view most of my adult life. Serves the buggers right i say. :y

No, and the under-manned police forces are continually 'fighting' the Justice system, the CPS and the Courts, to first take action against, then actually give real sentences of meaning to criminals, after the Officers have put a great deal of work in.   You can just imagine how they feel. >:(

I know it wasn't the case in this instance but I've never understood why they called it "joyriding" as though somehow that made it more acceptable rather than calling it theft which is what it is.

Yes and knowing a couple of cops, I can say they’re not at all happy when after putting their life on the line(in some cases) then the crims get off with a slap on the wrist. They seem to have more rights than the ordinary man on the street these days and it’s getting worse with all the Bloody do goody barstards.

Also seems to me in a lot of cases like this people[mainly family/friends]round on the police and say if they hadn't been chasing the crims they wouldn't have crashed and got injured/killed or injured/killed totally innocent bystanders quite overlooking the fact that if the offenders hadn't committed the offence and then run the police wouldn't have been chasing them in the first place. As per title of thread zero sympathy for the offenders.

Exactly right Baza! :y :y

I would also add that the police in these chases are not any old plod but fully trained, Advanced drivers who are also qualified in Tactical Pursuit.  They have to get authorisation to start a full pursuit, but are highly qualified to assess traffic, weather and general road conditions.  They also take on the massive responsibility of high speed pursuit, with always the risk of facing investigation, carried out by the IOPC, when deaths occur as in this case.

I thought 'in your day' horse stealing was a hanging offence & a light sentence, for a minor misdemeanor, was a free one way ticket & boat trip to Australia followed by a few years hard labour. :P :P :P
