I see plenty rolling around here - especially Q7s, usually parked outside of houses that look barely worth the same as the car; I always wonder how people afford them.. I mean, I'm well paid and even I drew the line at a Superb, not a Q7!

Even if the PCP/Fleece deals are reasonable and possibly readily affordable, the mileage allowances are barely enough to get to the shops and back once a week. Increase the mileage and the payments rise almost exponentially...

I just checked - the Q7 Black Edition is £650/mo for 10k miles PA, the regular edition is £550.. even I can't bring myself to pay that much a month

What deposit though? Throw in the tyres and fuel and that house in Great Yarmouth starts to look like a really good idea

I wasn't aware that they cost that much to own/run. Even here in Barnsley (not what you'd describe as an affluent area), there are loads of Audi Q's, big mercs, beemers, etc. Saw two Teslas on the high street by us last week. And jags, specifically the F Pace, they're fickin everywhere.

Mine is, but I still can't get my head around spending as much on my 'new car' as my first house cost .... 

It's insane. I reckon you could buy a really decent car for the price of twelve months depreciation on a Q7 or the like.

Someone paid £63000 for my car when new  so that's £37000 depreciation in 5yrs

Used start at over £35k. Did consider one for work when the P90D was launched... the numbers almost worked. The way they haven't depreciated over the last 6/7 years, it would have effectively been free...

Bit like our Omegas, list was around £30k, I never spent £4k on any I owned....

Our three vehicles new would have been £93,000 absolutely crazy! They stand me £12,800 would break my heart to lose £80,000 in depreciation.

I'm pretty sure that's some kind of special deal, Mark. Unlimited mileage deals are not generally available and would cost a fortune if you asked for a quote.

At the time I was considering, the batteries had lifetime warranties and free, unlimited use of the European supercharger network. Which was nice
