Drove the BMW to a garage and test drove a 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8.. as we pulled back up on the dealer forecourt and parked up, the electric handbrake let out the most awful screaming noise, threw up a fault code along with a "low coolant" fault and an oil slick on the floor and the dealer said "You see, you can really tell this one has been looked after"  :o ::) ;D

and that's if the manual release didn't break the last time it happened. Electric handbrakes are a bad idea, and poorly implemented.

To drive such a car Henry will need to be .......

A liberal-minded gay love teacher or philosopher from  Helsinki or.....

A suicidal depressed detective from the north of Sweden.

......and thin wire-rimmed spectacles must be worn at all times.

If that wealthy land owner keeps bullying us SAAB( posh Vectra) owners,  I'll get one of my polish mates from Spalding, to park a bigger Saab in his garden again, :D

Hopefully I won't need it - I ran away from that one faster than I arrived ;D ;D

That said, this one is tempting: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201905147940145

Later 5.0 V8s go for a lot more money than the earlier 4.2.. which is a shame, as the facelifted cars are much nicer inside.

Don't forget to buy some shares in shell, BP or Exxon, I suspect the consumption on one of those is pretty jaw dropping

The one in the link is 12.6mpg around town, 24 on a run. If you take into account that manufactures figures are usually a tad optimistic........ ::)

Fitted a new osr indicator bulb on the Terracan, I really can't remember having to change an indicator bulb on any car I've owned in the 48 years I've been driving !

That looks nice!  :y  But I've always thought the RR Sport is a bit of a Footballer/Hairdresser type thing.  :-\

Although the full fat Rangie is also a posers car, you do get the feeling that you could drive it across the Serengeti in the wet season and get through!  :y

Big cars for people with big fat wallets!  :P  :)

The Range Rover in my opinion is the best looking 4x4 on the market , I remember when I purchased my first 4x4 from a specialist dealer near Norwich in 1987 I was looking at the RR and the salesman asked what was my most important requirement I answered reliability he immediately steered me away from the RR & I'm afraid nothing has changed in all that time a real shame as I'd have one in an instant.
