If scuttle foam is getting wet, its likely the lower windscreen strip isn't pushed on properly, so an easy fix

Remove the foam and call it done

Such a bodge fails to fix the issue, and increases engine noise, which is why GM spent money putting it there in the first place.

I'm going to rip it all apart over the weekend ,check plugs ,throttle body breather **** and all that stuff
me being new to the car and it's intake technology

Remove the foam and call it done

I'll look and when rebuilding it all , decide if the foam should be retired

Ran diagnostics ,same codes 0300,0302 cleared codes, ran up to temp and looked at live data
fans kicked in at about 99 degrees according to ECU coolant temp sensor ,just over 90 on the dash gauge
battery voltage 13,6v according to diagnostics ,need to check with my meter.
checked all other modules ,ok
(apart from headlamp level code which cleared and stayed cleared (did the level sensor on the wishbone the other day )
foam was dry as a bone ,scuttle pushed in to the window seal correctly,drains clear .

so , i think before it all comes apart ,i'll order new spark plugs 
these ? Genuine OE BOSCH Ignition 0242235666 / FR7DC+ SUPER PLUS Spark Plug

anything else i should order for when it's apart

I'd probably go twins rather than single.

Check for oil/water in wells. Also, check LTFTs are 0%, and the MAF reads correctly (about 14-15kg/hr for 3.0/3.2l v6)

 i used bosch super 4 (4 electrode) in my carltons with no issues in the past    they'd be about £21 for the 6 for GM branded
plugs x 6

i'll need to go back and look at the MAF because i can't remember 
front lambdas switching ,rears lean

To be honest , i've been driving like a girl / coffin dodger, as i'm getting use to the omega still

no leaks from the cam housing covers  not got to the wells yet as i will order what i need first
3 of the 4 breather pipe clips (at the back/top on the ecotec plastic breather cover thingey) are original GM factory crimp clamps so i assume the ram and breathers /plenums have never been off (i intend to replace these when apart with fuel line clamps

Fitted new heater blower resistor module this afternoon and fan is now blowing as it should at all speeds and temperatures.£18-35 from Amazon so lets see how long this lasts although previous was replaced 5 years ago when it failed.

No water leaking so must just be "old age" ...and me

LTFT 3 at  1% 1 and the last bouncing 4 to 6 %  IIRC

Assuming not LPG converted, if LTFT aren't 0% for both banks, its worthy of investigation.  STFT will be all over the hop.


Quad electrode plugs aren't worth the effort, as plugs have a tendency to come slightly loose around 30k, so may as well replace in that 25-30k timeframe.  I personally use GM twins, mostly based on cost and convenience.

Today I checked and topped up fluids in the Battlebus, topped it up with air, then took it for a damn sound thrashing to top it up with electricity.

Also found out why the passenger mirror was vibrating/blurred when in motion - I just touched it and the glass part came off in my hand, leaving the mounting and heat elements still in place.

Opps.

Have to glue it for now, then get a new complete glass assembly.

well I got those GM32  plugs for £21 delivered so happy at that    i only do 4k a year so if they last 4 years without wobbling out  then they can get done again next cam belt

I checked Mrs Builder's  shooting brake over ,oil & filter change .
Mrs Builder, aka stirling moss, will give it a "dam good thrashing" Monday
and Tuesday , Wednesday, Thursday and  Friday 

number plate double sided sticky pads are good to stick mirrors back on (parts cleaned up with brake cleaner first )
appreciate it's heated and foam between may take the mirror longer to heat up .but it's summer today

Word of caution Dave, misfire codes are caused either by water or oil... Just because the scuttle foam is dry, doesn't mean the plug wells aren't full of either...

Plugs will be with me tues/wed and then I will investigate 
I did look into what is involved in removing the 2,4,6 coil pack and decided I'd get replacement parts before undoing it all
did a recent sniff test , no oil in the coolant ,no coolant in the oil
could well have oil or water in the plug well though
or it might be on it's original plugs and someone lied /ticked a box

but it can wait till midweek ,I'll just ground it
