It's a "mild" build as I'm only aiming for a square sort of ~450hp and ~450lb/ft of torque, though I think my spec might significantly exceed that... there was some "scope creep" during the specification stage!

A mere 450bhp huh? Should be enough to get it off your drive I guess  ;D

All joking aside it sounds epic! Whats left to do on it (other than the obvious engine and 'box)?

The old (real Cobra) used to weight little more than one tonne/ton, probably less than the Bini Cooper S. With 450 BHP the kit Cobra should go like shit of a shovel.

My Tata only has 510 BHP but weighs around 1900KG.... :'(

Speaking of the Bini Cooper S ...

It got punted up the arse last night by a little old lady in a Honda Jazz when I was stopped at traffic lights  ::) ::) Rear bumper cover is pushed in, but boot floor is sound, boot opens and closes etc, damage is almost confined to the plastic cover itself.

Called Admiral this morning and, without even seeing the car, their first response was: "Well, it's a 2007 car, so we should probably just look to write it off and give you market value"

And my neck hurts. :'(

I'm with Admiral, they would be laughing their heads off if I ever rang up about the 3.2  ;D

Sorry to hear that. :(

On the plus side, it's an opportunity to buy a "not a Bini" to replace it. :y

I witnessed a young man 'openly' driving a convertible Mini the other day without any sense of shame.

Clearly a faggot.......or hairdresser...or both.

Rear calipers on the Omega removed , stripped cleaned and painted then rebuilt with new seals, covers and bleed nipples. One piston was sticky when dismantled but other three just needed a good clean and refresh.
New rear flexible hoses fitted too.
Did a thorough check on all gaitors , cleaned all components and then painted where required. Looks like new.
Will do front calipers this week .
New, and very expensive , distributor cap fitted to E24 also dismantled hazard warning switch and adjusted spring tension to stop it popping out and switching on hazard lights ..... These early Series one car switches are NLA and difficult /expensive to locate .
New 225 Kumho tyres arrived to replace the 235's fitted to see if that eliminates the tramline effect noticed after I fitted the RC090's.
All good now for summer.  :y

Yesterday I bodged up my rattly A/C compressor pulley on the Mondeo with some tap washers and a bit of nice thick gloopy clear silicone.  :)

I left it to let the silicone set yesterday, tested it this morning and I now have a rattle free A/C compressor!  :y

Saw a sign for Barnsley, just at the point the weather turned grim.  I always knew it was grim up north, but never knew it was that grim.

How does our resident, grumpy, layabout cope....

If he's a native, he thinks it's normal. As Rhod Gilbert said, I was 13 before I realised I could take my cagoule off.
