Don’t be so sure, older petrols still way better than diesel. MotherT has now flogged her 2014 EClass, with a 45mpg 2.1 diesel, that was liable for the ULEZ. (Not reason for selling)

My 2002 3.2 V6, doing 24mpg,  still lists as no charge.  ;D

Its tricky, because it seems every city is making up its own rules as to what is and is not chargeable.  ::)

Birmingham, everything that isn't Euro 6 (diesel) or Euro 4 (petrol) is chargeable apparently. As always though, I'll bet they don't apply it to all the sh!t chucking diesel busses they clog the city centre up with.  >:(

Don't get me started, they announced it, fixed a date, and then decided lets have a consultation with Joe public, and carried on regardless.

Before I retired, I used to travel into the centre, lovely duel carriageway, cut outs for each bus stop, traffic used to flow.

Then they filled in the cut outs, put down a bus lane, fined everyone that used it, traffic jams all the way to the centre.

Added nearly 3/4 of an hour to my journey!

Several big car dealerships in the 'zone', I notice the Audi one has put up a 'For Let' sign.

I feel sorry for the people who live there and are trapped, most from what I've seen from driving through, drive pre Euro 6 diesel/Euro 4 petrol cars.

I live north side of Birmingham, a lot of my relatives live South side, will mean a 20 mile plus detour to visit them.

I cant see Brackley ever getting a silly charge.  So I'll keep with the old cars :)

Although once tizzy cars become more viable, and fossil fuelled cars become socially unacceptable, I suspect the government will make them unaffordable to own and use.

Up until last year, I had to visit central Birmingham with alarming regularity. It used to take almost an hour from the M42 to the centre, either via Solihull/Alcocks Green or via Kings Heath, in the morning.  It was actually far quicker to go around the motorway and whizz down the Expressway, but work wouldn't pay the extra mileage (and only pay a measly 28ppm anyway).

They wouldn't pay for the "lost" satnavs either, but that's another story.

Shoved a new air filter in TBE, although old one looked barely used.  Replaced headlight washer pump as well. Refilled the screenwash.

Got most of the way through the timing belt on the Terracan, only to discover I had lost the lottery and bought one with a 38mm crank pulley bolt rather than a T60  ::).

Seeing as I only have sockets up to 36mm it's off to Halfrauds we go tomorrow morning before I let loose with the impact wrench. 380nm ought to be a breeze...

Stymied in my attempts, I changed the oil and filters, fixed the pikey van's lights and cut it some new carpet ready for sale.

No build yet Ste.

The architect is coming Tuesday to work out where everything is going. Putting the garage in the back garden will work nicely but access is super tight once you factor in the extension. Once things get lively I'll start a build thread ;).

Unless of course you mean the Terracan, in which case I took this before I removed the aux belts so I know how the sodding things go back on  ;D....

No, I meant the house.  ;D
You'll have to post pics at every stage of the build, so that you can benefit from pages and pages of suggestions about what style/colour knobs/handles should be going on the kitchen drawers.  ;D
