Hi all, nice to see all the old faces again, wondered where you were all hiding (thanks Laidback for pointing me in the right direction). I've just replaced the pollen filter on my mini facelift Elite and just had to comment on the completely pants design of the clips that are suppose to hold the filter in place. Two flimsy little clips one of which was hanging by a slither on the pathetic plastic hinge and doing absolutely nothing. Quite how GM imagined these things would last the lifetime of the car is completely beyond me. Fortunately the filter is a comfortably tight fit and does not appear to need them. Just as well as I imagine after being unclipped and clipped a dozen times the hinges are completely finished. A fairly minor point I know but why cant they make things fit for purpose? This piece of design would shame Lada

Yeah, my clips were busted even before I got the car. I have to use a small blob of glue on 2 top corners to hold in place.

In this case......blue tack is your friend....

If placed on the edge of the filter I suspect it would.

Have your Omega converted to LPG and let the installer shove the lpg ecu in there.....
Holds the pollen filter in a treat!  

Only prob is you've got to remove the lpg ecu to get the pollen filter out

And if you forget to clear the scuttle drain, and it fills up? Does the ECU like swimming?

Thanks for the suggestions. The Pollen filter is quite a snug fit and doesn’t seem to need anything. I was however thinking along the lines of a couple of small bits of double sided carpet tape if necessary on either side. These clips really are a joke.

yep the clips are pants   but if you fit gen vx filter is a nice snug fit in hole !! 8-)

If the clips are broken and the filter wont stay in place then try this:

Find two panel pins about 3/4" - 1" long...brass ones are ideal
Take filter out
Heat panel pin with blowlamp then push it through the plastic frame so the pin will go through the filter border.
Fit new filter then press panel pin through new hole into edge of filter, leave the head sticking up a bit so you can pull it out next time.
