as im in my new job and ive done the week in hand im thinking of getting myself a set of 18s or 19s along with some lowered springs for the mega. i was in chatting to a mate in halfords but i didnt want to tell him to order anything in as from previous experience with previous cars offset and wheel size/width/tyre profile and lowering amount all affect each other.

what i need to know is will 8 or 9 by 19 inch wheels fit with a 45mm drop (if not 45 what about 35). i dont see any issues with them fitting in the back but in the front i dont know if they will fit without touching the shocks, particularly where the springs sit in the front shocks. if they will fit what offset do i need bearing in mind i dont want them to hit the front or rear shocks and i also dont want them to sit out past the arches.

if its not possible then ill settle for 18s and ill also need to know what offset/width/profile, etc.. to go for. i would prefer 19's tho if possible. the set i have in mind are somewhere between 8 and 9 by 19.

Not sure about the 19" could be borderline.......i know Kev has 18" on his but he is down south and offline just now..

Omega Elites come with 17's as standard and its already a tight fit with them.. 18's would be fine. 19's are pushing it though, i'd stick with 18's!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Sorry, prob not much help.....Tbh i think 19's will be ok on an omega, the arch's are bloody enormous! I work in Halfords, they should be able to look in the 'rimstock' book and it will tell you what offset/width etc to go for with a 19" rim.....

Only if they're wider. If you fit the correct tyre profile the overall wheel/tyre diameter will be the same. You probably need to go down to a 30 profile... wouldn't fancy the wheels surviving many potholes

I really like multispokes, i'm considering some 18" or 19" TSW pace for mine when she's alive again lol

Halfords have got 20% off those OZ wheels atm if you're interested.....

was thinking the oz superturismo gt's in 19 inch but a mate at halfords loked them up and they are somewhere between 8 and 9 inches wide which seems like it might cause some bother clearing the front shocks. the tyre width listed for them is 235/19. id like 19's but if no one can tell me if they will go on and what offset ill need to clear the front shocks then ill have to go for 18's.

yeah nice choice of wheels, but personally i woud avoid the gold for an omega....

I have known a few people ride their cars on 19"s - They all have said the same, they look great! But the ride quality became apualing & most dropped back to 18"s

The Omega has great suspension, but not sure how the ride would handle 19's.

But of course none of that matters, its the way it looks!

Thanks Mark. I've found a PC to use.  

My setup, I've got 18" irmscher SportStar on mine with the irmscher lowering kit and i'm pretty happy with how it looks.

Specs are...

18" SportStar Split set, wheels wider at the rear, but both have an ET30 offset.
Tyres on the rear are 265/35/18 Continental
Tyres on the front are 235/40/18 Continental

All sizes are irmscher recomended for the car, including tyre make/profiles etc.

It is quite tight around the strut area, and to be honest i think you'd be pushing it with 19"s, you'd be on ultra low profiles to compensate there i think, and then your ride quality goes right out the windae. You need to remember that, sometimes less is more.  

The offset is the most important, ET30, that is the recomended/required offset. I've seen Omegas with different offsets, even ET38's and they just don't look right.

looks great.. how much of a drop did the springs give? to me it looks a bit less than 45mm... possibly 25-35mm? do the front wheels sit flush with the arch? its hard to tell in that last pic.

actually not even considering the wheels in gold. was thinking they would look ok but that pic i posted has some lighting effects on it to make the gold look darker that it would be. dunno if i could get wider rears.. suppose i could always for some spacers in the back. i dont like the wheels out past the arch nor do i like them well in the arch.. yes i know picky picky lol

I've seen them wheels before, i think it was in BenHur.  

Seriously though, surely that would be undrivable on our crappy roads. Imagine hitting a speed bump in that.
