Need the 2 rubber 0 rings that seal the thermostat pipe to the thermostat housing on V6 if anybody can help ...Ta

There are two different numbers on the EPC for the same sealing ring - 90410899 and 9129999 for the 2.5 2.6 3.0 and 3.2 V6.
Not sure why but it's a start.....

That might explained the slight leak I still seem to have after refitting this pesky thermostat.
The correct stat housing has been fitted with the thicker shoulders but if memory serves me the 0 ring had about 4 what looked like mouldings around its circumference unlike the original which was just a thin rubber seal with smooth edges.
Does it seem like the incorrect seal has been packed with stat housing as it did look more substantial hence my logic it would seal better...sadly not the case

Looks like 9129999 is for the coolant pipe x2...and 90410899 is for the stat body to block. ??

9129999 supersedes 90410899 which is obsolete. So the most recent part number is 9129999.
EPC describes 90410899 as 'SEAL, RING (NLS - USE 9129999)'. NLS stands for No Longer Serviced.

Yes was looking that option,Jan,and the strange things is parts seemed to be less for Saab,s than GM against part numbers

Same here in Sweden, even the same partnumber had a lower price from SAAB

As said earlier, the thermostat housings changed, causing a change to the required o ring.

You need to get the o ring that matches the stat housing, no matter what EPC may or may not say.  O rings available from many places other than the dealer if the dealer cannot supply the correct one any more.

Here is the two types of thermostat housings. The one with the tall bolt holes (left one) have the square gasket, the other one has a round one.

So the style that requires the "longer bolts" having the stat body with the thicker lugs, being that I have fitted has the more moulded O ring seal not the thin GM rubber O ring.

Sorry for labouring the question but that may explain why things havent quite sealed correctly as I used the thinner rubber seal

EPC lists two possible seals, 9128363 & 24447061. 9128363 appears to be a standard circular section o-ring and widely available. 24447061 appears to be a moulded rectangular section ring with retaining dimples. So 24447061 appears to be the one on your car. You can see a close-up photo by clicking on the thumbnail in the ACDeclo catalogue here. Put 24447061 into the search box to see the thumbnail.

However these are not the o-ring seals that we started this thread with, two of which go on the end of the pipe that goes into the other side of the housing. For those o-ring pipe seals 9129999 supersedes 90410899, so both should have the same dimensions and cross section.

Yes originally I suspected a leak from the metal coolant pipe to stat body so thought I should source the 2 rubber O rings that sealed that joint.

When I thought things through further I remembered a different seal for the thermostat housing being supplied with the stat I bought and as I suspected I had been supplied with the incorrect seal started the search and it kept throwing up the thinner rubber seal.

As I am now armed with the information needed and a great explanation I can source the correct parts needed .
