Whereabouts (in Englishman speak), as may be able to make it, have to be overnighter for me though.

Bridgend area in South Wales
that's the wrong side of Cardiff ?

It's roughly two miles north of J36 of the M4 mister ;)

Around 15 minutes drive west of Cardiff - though that's probably 10 mins in reality to you J! ;D ;D ;D
Hmmm, may be too far, as no easy route, so a fair journey time.

Take this course of action, and you could endure the wrath of a certain Valleys wench at Newent 2012 dear boy.
'Tis not recommended mate - believe me 'been there, tried done that' etc ...........  :o

'Aberystwyth' is all I'm saying .................  :-X
I'm weak at the knees already ;D. And then the thought of Mrs Seth beating me whilst swearing with a Valley's accent.  Ooooo, heaven ;D

Last March, it took me about 5.5hrs to get to Tenby, going Monmoth, then across the Top of Valleys.  So guessing a good 4 to Bridgend.  That may be a bit much.

Tread carefully Jamie lad .........
'Tis not unknown for Dear Pamela to have a sneaky peek at OOF proceedings my boy! ::)

OOF-approved route for you is:
Your gaffe to Oxford, A34 to M4 J13, thence let the motor fly west along the M4 to J36.
3 hours tops - trust me! :y

.......... and believe me, we've got to keep this nice admin Hampshire chappie away from the BBQ:

Cremated bangers, extremely 'crispy' bacon and chronic indigestion at Welland Steam Rally last year spring to mind! :D
As for the hash-browns .......... surely they're shouldn't have been 'that' well-done? :-\

Simon (dad1uk) will no doubt confirm in the fullness of time .......... :-[

Couldn't fathom out why my Newcastle Brown Ale stash disappeared at such an alarming rate at Welland ........... until now, that is! :o

Security measures have forthwith been suitably strengthened to protect the said 'stash'.
Wanna chance yer arm? ........... against these measures this spirited little chap:

Judging by the inebriated state mess you got into ........... you wouldn't have, my boy :-[
Your enthusiastic indulgence of Shep's home-brewed "Rocket Fuel" has proven to be your downfall here! :o

'Twas lucky that Simon and I were on-hand to keep control of the proceedings ...............  ;D
