Omega General Help / Re: Difficult engine start on border crossing
« on: 06 August 2011, 21:08:23 »
Yes of course I have EML, paper clip test I didn't do, but she was at a garage where it's been done and the fault of immo was given as result. I've ordered a new one from Spain but, I suspect it'll be irrelevant. Hope I'm in the wrong.

Omega General Help / Difficult engine start on border crossing
« on: 06 August 2011, 20:04:35 »
Hi all,
I suffer from an interesting phenomenon that's been happened always on border crossing where I often have to start and stop my car. Difficult starting but, after I waited some (about 10) minutes   all OK. It seems and sounds misfire but, why exactly at the time and there? Faulty  concentration of fuel or air is suspected. Maybe fals signal from...where ? My iron is bi-fuel converted and except that I've written above runs very well! There is no fault code.

Thx for any hints, tips or experience

Laszlo

Hey,
I would suggest you not to hurry. At first just sit in and drive and after some month if really like the car you've bought you'll see your own individual style car in that you paid for. Don't hurry!

Hey everybody,

question : is there any difference between Omega and Vectra x25xe cam covers? My Omega's camcover is made of plastic and I'd like to change it to a Vectra's metal one! Are they compatible? Can I use that one instead if this one?

Thanks for all answer

They will fit, although you'll have to fit the filler to the wrong side of the engine. The question is... Why? If the breathers are kept clean and the covers ate torqued correctly they won't leak ;)

If you do fit metal ones, keep on top of the breathers... The next weakest point if it pressurises is likely to be a camshaft seal ;)
I'm sure you mean the crank seal, Mr LD ;)

It is a myth that plastic ones warp (they have to be severely abused by a poor mechanic). The key is to use genuine gaskets and fit them correctly, then thery are good for years.

It's said that the cooling not so effective in case of cylinders in the middle as outsider ones. So plastic covers could be deformed or warped by thermo difference. Can it be correct?

Hi all... Just musing about whether it would be worth thinking of getting my old girl (and i dont the wife) converted to Lpg.
Its not something i could do myself so, any ideas how much it would cost me ?
Adam
Much more worthy if you sale your actual car and buy an other one already had converted...

I would say this is a very good idea....
I wouldn't... Actually it's probably a very bad idea!

If your car is up together and running properly, convert it if you want. Buying another car could easily be a money pit ;)

Yes it could be that! Depend on how much you know the car you want to buy! But if you could buy a converted car in the same and wellknown type it can be a very good choice! Not to worry but keep going with open eyes! Good luck!

I think it's absolutely worth to do, here in Hungary it's cost is 1000EUR about but depend on type of engine (line or V, number of cylinders etc...) LPG using is "greener" than other not to mentioned that it makes your car a longer life period! Don't need to change oil so often, because there is no solid burn product.  :y :y :y
BUT real what is real don't accelerate like MadMax who use LPG... :'( :'( :'(
