Replacing Fuel Filter

Is there anything tricky about changing a fuel filter, or any tips I should be aware of?

Getting the clips off can be fiddly, but pretty straightforward job.

De-pressurise the system before removing the filter, or you'll get petrol everywhere (and in your face...)

You can do it on the fuel rail or take the fuse out & run it til it stops

I have a special tool....well I did have a special tool but, Laidback66 borrowed it and I havn't seen it since!

Ow yes, pull fuse 18 and run the car until it stops (normaly only a few seconds) and the fuel system will be depressurised, it will still have fuel in it but, wont be under pressure.

So take out fuse 18 (i think) and then just let the engine die?

TBH my new filter came with replacement clips, so I wasn't bothered how the old ones came off!

I bought a cheapo Lazer set for abot £12 and it has three pliers to do other cars as well. Certainly made the job a lot easier.

The fleet consists of a Singer Chamois Coupe, an Imp based kit car - BS Nymph, and a Kawasaki GPZ 900R (& a Toyota RAV4 LPG for the work horse!)
