runin warm.

hi chaps. can eny one tell me what temp the 3.0 elite runs at? mine seem a bit warm? when drivin norm its just over 90. if i stop at lights or traffic it creeps up two 95/100. then the fan cums in and drops but only a little. i have no leaks but he coolant go`s down approx a pint a month .is this the norm? :-/

No. This is what happened to me before I discovered I did have a leak.

I suspect you have a small leak somewhere! Find it before it gets to bad!

Mine was where coolant sensor meets the radiator (I think)



I have 3.0 MV6 and it runs around 80 now the leak has been sorted and my air con system has been rebuilt.

Usually run low 90s, creep up to 97ish before fans drag it back down...

Should run at 92.5 under normal driving, and not go over 97 when idling even in heavy traffic. If it hits 100 then it's getting too hot.

Do a good cooling system flush - and I would recommend changing the heater bypass valve, a common point of failure, overpressuring and hence warm running...

Yup, give it a good flush through a couple of times. Also check the rad switch is working properly.

I shouldn't worry about it Gwylym! As long as your heaters are warm when required, and it's stable, I shouldn't be overly concerned.

Remember yours is a facelift, and the numbers on the guauge are in different places to pre-facelift omega's....

Yes. Just been outside and started car, came back in to get camera, took few minutes to find it, went back and car has been running for 5 mins. Took photo (engine is running)



I was told Police MV6's had bigger cooing fans as they were driven at high speeds

They may have bigger fans, but I am not sure this is due to being driven at high speeds... At high speed the radiator is at its best, the engines cools down and the fans usually don't even cut in?
