« on: 22 March 2011, 17:58:13 »

ok, i know i,m a newbie, but i,m really up for a midlands meet, and there was something started along these lines, but it came to nothing.
therefore, is anyone else out there up for a midlands meet?, any sunday?, perhaps with a view to making it once a month?, venue to be decided by the majority?.
interested people and sugestions below please.

hi
i was thinking the six hills hotel LE14 3PD B676 off A46 North
they have a huge car park and have several car clubs
have there meets there on a regular basis,
As far as i remember from the last meet i went to there
all they ask is that if you want to eat and and drink you buy from them,
Its really easy to find and excellent access,
Or theres always the services at the A46 A6 junction Cross,

well, including you and me , there are only 6 of us who have shown an interest in atending.
due to a lack of interest i gave up on the idea, but i,d be happy to resurect it, if everyone else thought that just the 6 of us attended would they still attend?
if you would like to attend , either on the 29th of may or the 5th of june, then please add your reply below giving your preference of date, the 29th is the bank holiday weekend so that is why i have given the next sunday as an alternative in case you have made plans.
i will contact the proposed venue today and confirm this weekend wether we have permission to go ahead and hold the meeting there.
if it just ends up being 2 or 3 people i would still like to go ahead, but i dont want to end up being the only one who turned up. :-/
 thankyou :y

have spoken to the hotel management, and they are happy for us to go ahead with a meeting at there site on either of those dates, with no charge to use the car park, however, the bar will be closed, but they can arrange cover to open up the bar, i,m awaiting a call back to discuss that
anyone interested please confirm below giving your preference of date .
i,m suggesting meeting at 12 o clock on either the 29th of may (bank holiday weekend sunday) or the following sunday  5th of june.
 thankyou

have just spoken to the hotel, no call back yet as regards oppening of the bar, but there are toilet facilitys that we can use .
but it might be a case of bringing your own refreshments as there is likely to be a charge to have the bar oppened and staffed. and for the first meet , it may be better to see who turns up before asking for money,s
i have given both dates as a possible , and unless anyone cant make it on that date, then shall we say sunday 29th may at 12pm.
i will wait until a week before that date to confirm with everyone that wants to attend.
so this is your chance to say if you want to move it forward one week
anyone interested please add your name below, dont worry, if youre not sure wether you can make this one, but you may like to come to the next one.
i will put a list up a week before the date of confirmed atendee,s
 thankyou

p.s., as i,m new to this, if anyone has any suggestions i would welcome them. :y

I would potentially be interested, I say potentially as my daughters football takes priority  :P and the dates etc. for tournaments over the summer are changing around a bit at the moment.

That is also if people don't mind having a lowly 2.0l 4 pot that needs a bit of work sitting near their V6's haha.  If nothing else, it will help to make yours look better.

ok, confirmed with the hotel today and its all systems go for this meet.
toilet facilitys are availiable as is tea and coffee,
 so...
meet at 12 o clock miday on the six hills hotel , car park.
this is situated a couple of miles north of leicester on the a46 northbound side , about half way between leicester and melton mowbray.
all comers are welcome, its not a car show, its an owners meet, so you dont need a concours winner to attend, theres no prizes for the best car so bring what you drive and meet some others who drive the same and we can swap hints tips and advice.  :y
look forward to seeng you all there, i,ll be the one in the green estate, try to ignore the kirbed alloys :o
