Just sorted my booking at High Wycombe  Premier Inn on the Sunday -  only £29 for double room :o :o :o :o

Would of course welcome the company of any other Oofers for a natter ,a beer or two , some nosh & an overnight stay before the meet.
Can't go wrong for 29 quid  - me thinks  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry delay LD...been Omega spotting in Dorset ;D ;D
As regards times....I shall be on site from about 10am, so anyone can roll up whenever. Officially the place was shut, but some plonker has now taken a booking for a kids party in the main hall from 2 til 6. This should not affect us as they have been told that the car park is being used by us, unless there are any spaces at the bottom end. The bar will not be open to members, only us....so if it rains, there is inside seating in the bars, with, as I said before, dartboards, and Pool table...oh, and a 55" Television (not Sky) and of course booze and soft drinks. There is a small covered area which can be used for the BBQ should it be wet (gas BBQ) bring and cook your own. We will get rolls on the day and do some salad if required. Swmbo is going to do some rolls, Cheese and Tom, Tuna etc if interested. Tea and Coffee will be available. I assume the local takeaways will be open if someone wants to do that, and we have plates and cutlery available. So its a case of when everyone has gone, then I will lock up and bugger off ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi all - I intend coming along too.

I mentioned at our last Oxford meet that I'd maybe give a bit of a 'detailing' demo if the venue and weather were up to it. It sounds like this might be a great venue to do this if the weather holds out for us. I'm by no means a qualified/practicing car valeter/professional detailer in any way shape or form - so if someone that's going is - maybe they could give me some tips too... ;D
It's purely intended to cover off a few techniques I use, and a few tips about products that you may have heard about - but always wondered what on earth they were talking about. A bit of terminology uncovered etc.
I'll bring some of my own stuff - and if we can get access to a bit of water for a couple of buckets - I could walk through a simple process etc.
Purely amateur guidance - if you've ever visited Detailing World website - there's a month of Sundays worth of tips and advice on there.... I use a minute fraction of it that works for me with the time I have.
Whether you throw the bathwater over the car and dry it off with the nearest rag in the corner of the garage  :'( :'( :'( - or are still striving for the mirror finish shine the glossy adds would have you believe possible only with their product  8-) - hopefully I can give you at least 1 tip on how to get a step nearer to a better result... :y (unless your already there and just want to keep it that way).

..btw - I'm not spending all day cleaning everyone else's car OK  :D...

If everyone's up for it - I'd aim to be there from about midday.

Cheers
Ian.

Excellent - looks like I have some volunteers Gentlemen.
I might just be able to borrow someone's metal latice frame gazebo if it's big enough - so rain or heatwave we could still do something.... you need to bring your own brollies though..

Aha, might have to call the semi automatic gazebo into action :y  although if it's windy it will need tying down or it's more harm than good. :-/

Hello Chris,
Mot just over a week ago, no advisories. Same with the Mondeo. :y
Last Monday I came out and someone had driven into the drivers door of the Mondeo, Thursday I came out and someone had backed into the front offside wing of the Omega.  :'(
Running well though. Need to do a little tidying and then sadly both have to go as I need a 7 seater. You've still got first refusal ;)
I take it you're coming to Wycombe?

The location is Community Centre, Rose Avenue, Hazlemere, Bucks, just outside High Wycombe. Access from M40, M25, M1 is very good. Google it for info.

From the M40, exit at J4 and head north east along the A404 Amersham Road towards Amersham. At Hazlemere (after passing the Hazlemere Sports Association Pavilion below) there will be a double mini-roundabout with two petrol stations and four exits. Go right onto the B474 Penn Road and then take the second right onto Rose Avenue. The Community Center is on the right, just after the long bend to the left in the road.

Same here - common interest  :y - can't see the problem

I dont understand this at all are we not here for one reason and one reason only??...no one as far as i am concerned within the oof would have a problem so why not come  along?????? :y

Totally agree.....come along.

Many thanks to Ian and his super tips on car cleaning and  demo. Shame the rain couldn't have held off a bit longer :(

Someone left a Nortel Brolly behind, which we have here (Radar?)

Here are a few pics of the brilliant turnout....

Nice photos Tony, you certainly have had a busy day! The brolley is not mine. I borrowed Ian's black one and put it down under the gazebo near his cleaning kit.

Thanks again :y :y

Thanks Tony - the brolley is mine too, sounds like a good excuse to come back again  :y  (I've got the black one back). If you can hang onto it for me - at least I know where it is  :y
Again - thank you both very much for your hospitality - made a big difference and perfect to have some facilities available to use without the worry of upsetting anyone else.
Thanks for the pictures and thanks to all for taking an interest in the demo. Remember - if you do nothing else at least go for two buckets instead of one  :-[
Good luck with the rest of your car Kevin - and Chris - patience my man - patience and it'll be worth the wait  :y

Nice to see you all - and look forward to the next one.
Cheers
Ian.

Indeed, what a great venue, esp as the weather was unkind.

Sorry for turning up so late, and apologies to those who had already left before i got there - I know some whated some bits looking at  :-[. I was, perhaps, over ambitious as to what we could achieve over the weekend, esp as I was suffering hangover and 'tummy troubles' Monday morning  :-[

Thanks to Terbert and Mrs Terbert for arranging such a great day :y

Don't think we were particularly over ambitious... We achieved the work on mine by Sunday night... If Gixer hadn't managed to get a blockage in that pipe we would have been considerably earlier ;)

Sorry for being so far down the list. Massive thanks to Mr and Mrs Terbert for looking after us so well and also for making this the most conveniently located meet that I've been to :y
Thanks very much to Ian for the demo, sorry that I missed the end both times but will apply what I have learned, appreciate the effort you put in for everyone.
Good effort getting down Tim, nice to see my car's big simplified brother again :D.
ChrisG, I'm working over your neck of the woods for a couple of weeks so if you want a quick go in her now that she drives in a relatively straight line I'll pop over and we can have a swift pint.
Everyone else, lovely to meet you or see you again. Sorry I shot off without saying anything but got a phone call and had to dash.
All the best and hopefully see you soon.

Many thanks for all your kind comments...it was a pleasure to arrange. :y
Thanks to all who travelled miles...Tim, Al, Mark, to name but a few.
Best dressed was Josh, who gets the 'Burton' prize for being well suited and booted. :y
Taxi Al.... I was a bit concerned about the old dear in the back of your car who kept saying "I only wanted to go to Horsham station"  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Once I know our clear dates, I'll fix up another meet. This will be on a Saturday, probably August :y
