Oil thread LLOLLL
« on: 03 September 2006, 21:59:57 »

Nahhhhhhhhhhh only joking , well kind of !!

Went to Tesco's garage tonight and popped a few quids worth of Petrol in the Omega !

Was moving up the que waiting to be served and looked over at some of the mrechandise on the shelves !

Waht the f****ing hell thats at £13.47 a litre !!! Looks like oil---------------- nah cant be at that price !!!

Went to investigate and it was OIL !!! Castrol " Edge "
Wohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nasty price !!!!! Thats like a £60 oil change !!! Nahhhhhhhhhh cant be !!!

Searched for it on the internet and Halfrauds came up in the first 5 search's !
" Enter your car model here " urmmmmmmmmmm Omega !!!
" Best oil to use is Castrol Edge " recommended for you car ! Like f***k it is !!!
4 litre bottle is £42 something !!!! Yeaaaaaaaaa of course its the best oil for my car, cos its bloody expensive thats why !

You can only buy it in 1 litre and 4 litre cans, how very convinient !!!!!

Whats it all about then chaps, is it ever lasting oil or what !!!!
Got to be something about it at that PRICE !!!

Oh yea almost forgot, thye were also recommending Castrol Edge 0-30w !!!!! ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!

My brother's Alpina took some flippin expensive oil (like £70 a litre!), and it was one of those designs that intentionally burns a little oil as well. Fook me.

Funny you should say that this Edge stuff is the only oil recomended by BMW for there M series engines, so maybe your brother should be using it too !!!
Its a bit cheaper than the special stuff he is using in the Alpina !!! But isnt that just a BMW anyway !!

If I want really cheap shite I'll blag some of the stuff our fitter at work uses in the tranny vans.
Remember the guy I used to work for using the turbo diesel oil we used in the scania in his XJ6 cos he got it cheap by the drum.
Pity his engine rebuild was so costly or he would have been onto a winner.

Ahmmm... £3 per Litre for 6 Litres is £18... so youv'e been ripped-off by.... £4? That's nowhere near paying £60 for Castrol Edge  ;D

A word of advice regarding local parts shop and motor factors. Buy more than one item (you don't have to spend £££, just pick-up at least two or three items at the same time), then look the shopkeeper in the eye and confidentally ask for a discount. I have yet to see this fail, and always get a 10% discount which they seem happy to give at the drop of a hat.

A bit more tricky with main dealers (though not impossible), as you have to convince them you are trade - however now that I have my Trade Club I don't have this problem anymore...

Mmmmmm Scaniaaa!!!!
my all time favourite Scania is the 143-450v8. My dad when he once bought a brand new 140 v8 back then its power felt immense when empty he would only do 3 gear changes.
