Title: Codes
Post by: danzigfan on 14 January 2018, 12:46:10
Me again guys, yesterday EML lit for a second right in the middle of some Italian tune up while accelerating from toll booths (which I don't consider ilegal and even less dangerous ::)) when changing from 3-rd to 4-th at 6000rpm. I went to check for codes today and got 12, 31, 74....So IIRC 31 is normal, 74 is MAF sensor voltage high but what is 12? ??? Or did I misscalculate flashes....
BTW, she s going to turn her 100.000 miles today which is quite low mileage for almost 18 year old barge :y

I think 12 is just what you get at the beginning of every sequence, but it’s a long time since I did any of this malarkey. I think you should get a 12 at the end as well, to signify that there are no more codes.

From the maintenance guides:

Note: Systems using 2 digit codes (2.5/3.0 and earlier 2.0), the system flashes a 1-2 (12) 3 times to indicate start of sequence. Systems using 4 digit codes (later 2.0l), there is no start of sequence - it starts flashing out fault codes (if any) immediately.

Thanks :y So an air leak or a MAF on it's way...none if it too expensive. Thanks again
