IIRC, the trip computer works out the range according to your average mpg over the last ten miles - I think that's showing as 40-ish mpg, though, which seems high.

I'd be minded to fill it with juice til the pump clicks off, then work off say, 25mpg... IIRC, it's a 12 gallon tank (or thereabouts). I've heard stories of people running out when the range says 40 miles, so it's not too accurate...

HTH. :y

Anyone had a custom stainless system fitted, out of interest? I'm considering it at some point in the next year, for longevity, added shinyness, and a bit more noise when I really, um, open the taps... but still civilised for a motorway cruise or shopping trip...

My best/worst random alarm moment.............

Heading to Blackpool a few weeks ago down the M6, overtaking a copper at 71 mph ;) and then the alarm going off!!

I think it'd be great if coppers had a gadget that could do that to passing cars... middle lane morons, for example...

Vredesteins are always highly rated, even without taking into account the price compared to Michelins and the like.

The 2.6 is plenty fast, I see about 22-23mpg, but that's a lot of town driving, and plenty of "enthusiastic" B-roads... Had it up to 33mpg on a motorway run.

Just a hunch - you might be able to swap (or simply reprogramme, I don't know if the chip is a different type) the chip if it's a wireless radio thing - if it's a infrared one I doubt you could.

Omega General Help / Disc and pad set prices...
« on: 04 December 2007, 12:07:40 »
A quick search lists the following -

 "Front disc and pad set - 93175466 - Retail - £94 Trade club - £66.42
Rear disc's - 90444513 - Retail - £87.00 Trade club - £55.49
Rear pads - 9192126 - Retail - £18.35 Trade club - £10.72"

referring to a 98 MV6. Do I assume the brakes are the same across the board, both pre- and post-facelift? If so, have prices gone up since October 06 when this was posted?

Cheers
Pete

I'd be minded to put a 3.2 engine and running gear in from a plodwagon, but thats just me... welcome to the forum, anyhow. :y

 I assume, being 2001, it's a facelift model?
