It just seems strange that 3 of the bulbs stopped working together, and I was unable to get them working even with fresh bulbs.

Could be that by reassembling you've put pressure temporarily in the right place...

I think they changed the setup so it will work with the engine running... mines a 2002 02 car and it will. It is ~3 seconds though. I'd say it took me a moment to realise but that'd be a terrible pun...

Rules that out then!

Don't know if there is a fuse relating to the socket anywhere  :-/

Indeed... or maybe a loose connection to it?

Aye, I think most generic readers won't work on the Omegas - I've had three tried on mine.

You might need to run some wiring into the fusebox? Just a vaguely educated guess...

Omega General Help / Sticky passenger door lock
« on: 19 November 2007, 01:07:43 »
 Ey up

The passenger door lock opened and closed as I wanted, using the fob, when I got the car. Then it went a bit temperamental... then it would only lock on the second press (deadlocks on the rest?)... now it sits there doing precisely naff all.
Where am I best to start looking? A squirt of the old WD down the side of the door pin... a loose connection somewhere... or the motor/ system inside the door?

Cheers
Pete

The A/C won't come on below 4C regardless...

Ah, it was somewhere between 0-1C... that would explain it. Just need to swap the thermostat then. :y

Mine seemed to not demist at all the other night - I'd been in it for a while, and all the windows were fairly heavily steamed up, but even after 5 minutes or so the effect were negligible - would a regas cure this, or is there likelt to be a deeper problem?

should also say Elite on or above the door trims ::)

Now why didnt I think of saying that... possibly the easiest way to tell if its an elite...does what it says on the badge !

Didn't plodwagons have "Elite" on the doors, but weren't inside?

Or just unlock with key (key doesn't disable alarm).

 Also, this. ;) :y

Drop window of one door, shut all the doors, lock with the fob. Then unlock that one door, or maybe just wave your arm around inside. :y

An old Irish "mechanic" used to say to me..."...just tighten the oppsers down."  :o

Another variation of the theme was from a work mate. Tighten till you fart  ..... then another quarter turn!!  ;)  ;)

"Tighten them til you feel it in your left/right knacker (according to handedness)"

The heated seats take a while to warm up - about 5 minutes, in my experience.

How would one go about fitting a phone kit to a facelift? Just swap for a phone-enabled headunit, fit the mic etc, and be done?
