The best price I've seen so far for Powerflex is: ARB £18.42
Wishbone fronts £25.02.

Has anyone seen better?
Is that each?

Cheapest i've found is £40 for the pair

Yes. Who has them at £40 Pete?
They're on Ebay, £40.03 delivered ;)

Thanks Pete, set ordered. :y

On the one hand, I could imagine that being possible, bushes are there to allow movement obviously, but also to absorb shock and vibration. Stiffer they are, the harsher it gets, but also more accurate I hope, that's the trade off we're dealing with.

But on the other hand, those that have polly seem happy, and Mr Dtm says they are fairly compliant....

Re my own car, I may fit polly, out of interest mostly. If too stiff then fit my pre pressed with m3 bushes wishbones ... LPG first though.

So on balance, it sounds as though there are no serious issues, plus, hopefully, longer life. I was interested also to read Tony's response to your thread on WIM, suggesting that fitment of polys should not affect the rear bushes. :y

I'm no expert mate but very careful if you put powerfelx Polly bush's on your car cause if you have a fairly old omega or any car for that matter I have heard and seen that because they are a lot stiffer they can cause your chassis problems (like cracks etc) I have seen a few of my mates cars in the past that this has happened to and then they have had to get it all sorted and have switched back to the o.e.

This was posted on a similar thread last year. Has anyone else had chassis problems with poly bushes?

Omega General Help / Re: Pollen filter

Pollen filter- most essential piece of kit on our car!
I am going to bring a couple back with me from my next UK trip instead of paying about £10 for one from the motor factors here. I do change them every year as they get clogged up unsurpringly with tree pollen!

Looking on Ebay there seems to be two types: paper and carbon?  Will the carbon type fit the mini facelift?

Would I be better just getting one over the counter at Europarts or even a VX dealer in Leicester?

Are these "kits" recommended or is it best to stick with branded parts. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Service-Filter-Kit-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-B-3-0i-V6-24V-9-99-/270601816552?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f012009e8  I currently spend about £20 on a Mann air filter and oil filter (metal canister type)

Yes :y

Or if ever you get around my parts at any point and bring some switches, I'll do it for free.  But I'm not really on the way to anywhere ;D

Thank goodness ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Omega General Help / Re: Best model?
« on: 28 February 2011, 22:28:16 »
OK, the impression I get is that, despite slightly poorer build quality, the later models, particularly 3.2's, have some improved design features, (head gaskets etc.), and lend themselves to LPG. What about the tax/omissions issue? Is it pre 2001 for lower tax? :y

Omega General Help / Best model?
« on: 27 February 2011, 17:44:33 »
I have seen some comments about mfl being better than facelift models. I am interested in tapping the wealth of OOF knowledge, particularly regarding reliability of Elite 3.0l or 3.2l models, best model years, etc., as I am fairly sure that I will be looking for one soon as a spare car. Any comments, good or bad welcome.:y

OK, we have 3 people who suffered worse MPG.  Lets see if we can find anything common.

Which ECU - 214, 215, 427, 428 ?
Gearbox - Auto/Manual ?
If 427 chip, which option - normal, +10, or 'old smokey!' ?

I now know:
1. 428
2. Auto
3. N/A

As I', only recently fitted a +5 chip (vice +1) I don't yet have an accurate m.p.g. figure.

That's much clearer thanks. If fitted, am I correct in thinking that these switching characteristics would apply to the ECU as modified?
V = 12.35 V, TA = 15°C. Where V is volts, TA =Ambient Temperature

Thanks :y
