Doesn't look like it needs much restoration, TBH.

Very nice.

Makes no differance here until a car gets to 30 years old . Click link then Motor tax rates on top left corner.

<splutter>  :o Wow! And we're moaning about our road tax...

Still, with it based on capacity there's got to be potential for running something with a small engine running a lot of boost pressure. [smiley=evil.gif]

I was going to say, for 130 quid I'll bite their hand off. Be wight round with Mrs. KW's waste of flesh and fur. Save me a fortune in Kit-e-Kat and stop my carpets getting shredded.  :y

CPL better for that type - how long has she had it?

Yeah, I know she came from CPL in the first place. Just joking. She's probably around 8 years old IIRC (and climbing on me as I type so excuse the typos).

Should be OK. It was holding the thermostat housing together on my Morris Ital for years. :-X

Actually, the rapid stuff might be a bit sensitive to heat. :-/ Check the packaging. J-B weld would do it for sure.

Give it a gentle bake in the oven for a few hours to make sure it's gone off properly. Not too hot - 100 degrees C is fine.

M & S are good for the nice gravel stages er, I mean roads around north wales to.....

 :y

Sadly it's always chucking it down when I get there :(

Last time I was blatting there in the Westfield my right foot was the only dry part of me. (wiper stalk was leaking onto my left shin and running down into me shoe). So, I park the car and step out - into a puddle. >:(

Did get a clear run up the Llanberis pass without meeting a coach or a caravan though. :y

It pays not to do all that adding up Marie, it can be quite depressing

If you think that's bad try doing it once you've built a kit car.  :-X

Think of it as an investment not a money pit. It's a better car than it was when you bought it, and it will be cheaper to maintain from now on. (Honest)

It's a very nice car, no doubt, but unless you're doing virtually no miles is it really worth the extra running costs?

An Omega can get through a bit of fuel, but that will be in a different league, especially if driven hard. I don't know about you, but it's not that often I use everything the Omega has to give and want for more. Are you ever going to use all those horses?

Granted there are times when you can't have too much power, but you pay for having extra power every mile you drive. With fuel costs increasing with no end in sight at the moment, it just feels like the wrong time to buy something more thirsty.

If you want a more nippy car (let's face it, no-one needs to better the top end performance of a V6 Omega in the UK), go for something lighter and less thirsty. Keep the Omega as a cruising barge.

On the other hand, if that car is affordable to run now, it sure as hell won't be in a few years time, so if it's something you've always wanted, go for it now.

His boss said that if he has to buy fuel in the UK he pays the difference !

.. and they wonder why all our industry has gone. :o

Now they've started taxing foreign nationals to kingdom come all the financial services will go and we'll be royally breaked. >:(

Might I ask how long did it take from first-joining ABS until the TC arrived?

Because I had an MOT failure on my hands, I put a £20 note in the post to their mem sec. (it saved time waiting for cheques to clear) & received trade card & magazines within about 3 days.
The best £20 anyone could spend IMO.
The Omega is fast becoming the most populous car in their club I understand. :y
Thats OOF sending all our members over ;D

Actually, seriously, I guess I should contact them about it  :-[

Can't really see a problem with it if we are paid up members. I even answered a few questions on their forum this week. :y

Only slight issue I can see is if VX started to get the hump about the number of trade cards they are issuing. :-/ I guess getting their POV on the issue would be courteous.

All i plan on doing is reading the codes. Just incase i need any parts atleast i can get them then hopefully buy sat. hubby needs the car again on sunday. he will be really breaked off if i say he cant and has to use the train.

Would he prefer to pay a main dealer to fix it?  ;D

Kevin

LMFAO ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nope but he might prefer to take it to a garage >:( >:( >:( which i wont allow! over my dead body!

You should let him try... Just the once. [smiley=evil.gif] I suspect you'll get an easier life thereafter. :-X

Well, the car can be sorted so try not to worry about it.

If the breather has fallen down that might just explain the fluid leakage. A certain amount of fluid will be thrown up the breather when running and if it doesn't end high enough it will escape. :-/ Even if the box has to come off, we can sort it, and the cam covers too if necessary. It might put the LPG plans on the back burner for a while but it will get sorted.

I know how frustrating it is when you spend a lot of time on a job and it goes pear shaped due to a small detail. It's even worse when your other half appears to run out of support for your efforts but you come out of it wiser in the end and better perpared to tackle the next project.

Ickle people aren't really my forte, however. :-/
