Yeah, it'll be with a certain amount of trepidation, seeing as at 62k it's behaving impeccably, but I think it's got to be done. :-/

Will do. :y

A shot or two of Plus Gas on the plug is probably a good idea then.

Ordered a replacement filter and sump gasket set for my automatic gearbox from Dave Kember who advertises in the back of straight 6 news. It arrived today so looks like I'm all set for a coiffure en huile de boîte de vitesse at the weekend, or maybe at Telford if I don't get round to it.

Cost was 30 quid plus postage (35 total IIRC).  :y

Dangerous pancakes? For breaks sake. What really gets me is that that those of us with proper jobs are paying for these pillocks in their non jobs to to come up with such bollix.
Lemon juice & a sprinkle of Demerera on mine please!!!! ;D

Cracked open the maple syrup myself :-*

Their wallets and keys were still in the plane with the rest of their bags!

At least, for once, even BA knew where their bags were. :-X

Hours in the terminal, and then having to beg for money for a taxi home!?!

Well, that is crazy. Write off 200 million USD worth of aircraft and begrudge each of your survivors 100 quid for a cab ride. Let's face it, it's going to be a big insurance claim whatever happens.

Good job they crashed only a mile from their intended destination really.. I wonder if they'd have been expected to find their own way home if they'd only made it half way?

Nick Ferrari said on the radio yesterday (London only) that he can't believe that some passengers from flight BA 0038 are suing BA for the trauma... and for having fear of flight due to the crash... and for the fact that they have been left standing on the runway for 20 minutes after evacuating the aircraft.
id rather be freezing for 20 mins than be dead. unbelievable
I would have sued.

Not for the wreck or any of that, but for how they treated the passengers after they got to the terminal. That was completely disgraceful. Until various organisations in the UK realise that they shouldn't treat people that way I will not be fully critical of ridiculous lawsuits.

For the treatment they allegedly received in the terminal (no food and drink for hours, etc) I think you have a point. For the minutes after the accident the focus would quite correctly have been on ensuring everyone was safe. Inevitably those who were safe were not going to be waited on hand and foot until this had been confirmed.

We really need to re-instate some assumption of a reasonable level of common sense before it's too late.

If a person can't assess for himself the risks involved in running down a cobbled street carrying a frying pan, or appreciate that if his flight lands on its' belly there are going to be some complications, then surely they are destined to have a hard life whatever happens.

With luck they will remove themselves from the gene pool before figuring out how to procreate, and will therefore do us all a favour. Why does everyone else's life need to be dumbed down to a level that allows them to be protected?  >:(

I think we'll have to establish a "Police - do not cross" line like we did in the lakes.

Yep........just a 4 poster left......

Think I might end up in Telford then!

Gonna check the work hotel bookings site tomorrow to.
The one you posted in Telford seems like a go-er, just means some
cant have too much of a drink until arriving at hotel, unless people fancy walking - about 2 miles I reckon.

Be better if we all stayed at same place?

agreed.

is it the same cancellation conditions as NN's?  Cant see anything yet to advise on their site...
Implies it is - down left hand side, Cancellations. Hints there may be T&Cs.

I'm tempted to get a banker in before they book out.

Christ, at this rate, I'll have booked every hotel in the area ;D

I've just booked a room there.. No sign of anything on the confirmation... Keeps referring to Ts and Cs which just aren't there. However, it says no deposit is charged... :-/

Stop Press: Just got the email confirmation and it's on there:

Cancellations:If
cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival,  no fee will be
charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will
be
charged.

Kevin
KW - was that the hotel in Telford that MDTM posted up?

Yes.. I think so. International Hotel Telford.
