Make sure you reserve online. I did, and they weren't on offer in the store as far as I could see.  :y

Thanks for heads up Kev, did you get 5w30?

Master recommended some fully synth for my 3.2, guess 5w30 is best? looks like a good deal!

Surprised to read this heresy on this forum! ;)

5W30 is fine despite what people say 8).  Personally I'd go for the 5W40 though, I think the 30 is just to save fuel not to save engines. £10 is a great price even though they are 4L cans.

The thinner oil way find ways of leaving the sump easier, esp on engines that carry a few miles under their belts.

Don't be taken in by the longer life, so stick to the OOF recommended change intervals (NOT the oil or Vx recommendations!).

I seem to recall (at least some) Halfords oils were prone to aborbing a lot of moisture, so if you do short runs, keep a desperately close eye on the breathers, and check for mayo under filler cap.

Yep, get the fully synth 5w30. :y

I've been using 5w30 for years, and used Halfords stuff last time this offer came up. No problems. :y

Probably worth pointing out that if you are going down the halfords full skimmed route it needs to be all or nothing in there, fresh oil change, then any top ups need to be the same fully synth untill the next oil dump, wouldn't fancy the idea of mixing GM Semi with Halfords Full.

Yeah, I was thinking of getting 4 bottles. 6.5L or so per change, so 2 bottles would do one change with some left for spare/topping up.

Might be worth getting some more, at a tenner a hit, or your next recommend Oil Change is going to be bloody expensive or dependent on Halfords next promo offer on Full Synth, assuming your going to commit to running the car on that stuff.  ;)

Wondering if I should get another 4.

That said, GM fully synth 5w30 on trade club isn't bad value. About £60 for 20L IIRC.
