Opel shop couldn't change language on GID display
« on: 29 September 2017, 10:42:57 »

My new Omega that I have imported from Germany has the GID display and the CART2007 radio and the display is of course in German.

I would like to change that to Swedish. I booked an appointment today for them to use the TECH2 to reprogram it to Swedish. They were able to do that but as soon as they started the car it went back to German.

I'm going to replace the CART2007 with some more modern stuff so I think that the reprogramming has to be done before I remove it.

What did the mechanic do wrong? They said it needed a few hours of setting different units in the car to the correct country code, is that right?

Thanks

I have tried to find that menu but I can't see any such choice. I have also read that changing that way will default back to German if you disconnect the battery. Since I'm going to remove the original stereo I think I need to change it with the TECH2

How do I get to the BC menu?

Thanks

Yes, mine has reverted to German every so often, but this menu has resolved the issue every time.  ;)

I cannot remember though if Swedish is listed. :-\

What do you mean by stalk? My native language is Swedish and I know what a stalk is but not on an Omega  :-[

One of these:

Could not find a photo of wiper stalk with buttons, here in UK one that controls indicator/lights, also controls cruise.

The wiper stalk is only wiper with NCDC, but other H/U's say 2005 unit, it also controls the MID, try pressing and holding the long lower button?

First insert a suitable Swedish SIM card, T Mobile PAYG should suffice.

Then select the following function in order using the Selector knob (not the On/Off/volume)

Menu
Settings
Configuration
Language
Automatic

Needs to have a SIM in to change language :y

English manual, just ignore all the CD Changer stuff... http://images.omegaowners.com/documents/audio/ccrt2008_2002.pdf

Also bear in mind that if you swap the radio, you also need to swap the display as the current one is only suitable for CART/CCRT models :y

Thanks for the info, well it isn't easy, is it?

I got this on the display when pressing both buttons on the wiper stalk.

Should I go for the normal MID panel, I think that one is easiest to find here in Sweden, my other Omega has one like that.

I believe if you want that Display to defaut in another language it needs a chat with a Tech 2, which is what your Garage tried to do, or did they use Op Com software instead?
