Possibly haven't tightened the calliper back correctly and pads are moving around.

Suggest not driving until resolved as stated ..take it back..but drive it carefully.

Brakes need doing properly  >:(

Hi Tunnie,it was a mobile mechanic he came to me.I have phoned him and text him but no reply at the moment,he has good reviews on yell that's why i used him.I am a bit reluctant to drive to him,as this is a brake problem so i don't know if i would do more damage.Dean.

As above, don't drive. Could be no thread lock put on the lower brake calliper bolt, which is one you remove to swing the arm up to remove the pad. That could have come out and now be making knocking noise  :-\

well you've had work done on the brakes and now knocking noise while you brake, so this needs looking at  :y

You could jack the car up, put it on axel stands and take the wheels off and investigate yourself if you have the ability  :)

My guess would also be a loose calipper. Had the same thing on my estate. Knocking when braking.  Put it of for several days as i was pressed for time. But suddenly the right front wheel locked up completely just as i was pulling up at work. The omega pushed the stiff front wheel the last meters to the parking spot. One calipper bolt had come completely loose and the calipper was jammed against the rim, locking the wheel. Glad it didnt happen at speed! Luckily the bolt was still lying loose in the calipper, so had the old man bring some tools and got everything sorted during lunchhour. But in my case it was my own sloppy work to blame as noone else had touched those brakes:p

Caliper carrier requires the nut holding with a thin open end spanner whilst doing up the bolt and that needs lock thread and tightening to torque.

New bolts come with brake pads ..well should do..my money is guy has used new bolts and hasn't held the nut stopping it turning and just suspected all was done up tight....shoody work at best..bloody dangerous at worst....Please don't drive car until problem resolved.
