What's your favourite car show?
« on: 08 November 2017, 18:38:54 »

I'm a tight bastard, so as my viewing is restricted to Freeview I don't get the delights of the new adventures Clarkson and Co.  Not that it's a car show anymore, just a programme about 3 blokes mucking about.  ;)

I've got into Fantom Works recently on Quest which follows a classic car restoration company in Norfolk, Virginia.  Some nice cars and some great restorations.  :y

What's your fav?  ???

Yes.....like yourself I too can only afford freeview. Not wealthy enough to afford all the repeats of old crap shown on Sky. :)

I enjoy 'Chasing classic cars'

You aren't missing anything by not being able to see the new vehicle for Clarksons ego. Its shite imo.
Used to love Wheeler dealers, but it ran its course several years ago.
Enjoyed The classic car show, despite Quentin Wilson presenting, but I think that's finished now.
I think were starved of any kind of decent car show these days.  :(

Think Car SOS is the only one I've bothered with recently.

He comes across as a smarmy know it all, rips people off then ends up selling for far less than he reckoned he could get while blatent lying about what's been done to the vehicle (Told one person the car had a full Stainless Steel exhaust when it only had the tips!)

They are all dire. Car SOS could be miles better if they halved the time, and lost the girlie shite at beginning and end.

Sadly, I think the 3 oafs are still the best option out there, hoping S2 is better than S1.  But that format has run its course.

It's rare to see one that I havn't seen these days, but yes I like Wheeler Dealers.  :y

The spin off where he goes around the world (Trading Up I think it's called?) is OK.  The one in Japan was fascinating, especially where he bought a car at auction and all the traders are sat at computer terminals!  A bit different to BCA!  ::)  ;D

Isn't there a new series of Wheeler Dealers minus Ed China coming out?  :-\

The thing i found with U.S. programmes (not only motoring ones), is the massive egos of the people in it. Bless ,em.  ;D

Car SOS, phantom works, wheeler dealers, counting cars etc, etc. I’ve seen every episode about four times. There’s nothing new out there.

Not really. I tell the wife that there is a show that I must watch when she tries to put Coronation Street on. She goes off to watch it somewhere else and I sit through a car show I have seen umpteen times. Sad, eh?  ;D

I enjoy Chasing Classic Cars . No stupid childish attempt at humour or obvious staged "crisis" 12 minutes in to each show .......or ego's the size of elephants testicles .
Wayne coves everything from brass cars through 30/40/50's American tin to European exotica .
I like the way he is open enough to air the times that the hammer falls way short of his estimate on a no reserve sale too.
Car SOS is woeful . Fuz is bearable but that tosser that co presents is a stupid big laddie and I don't believe that the " victims " don't recognise them and what is happening by now .
Wheeler Dealers is long past it's sell by date and the new format with Ant the new guy is just a poor facsimile of the previous series .
Fantom works , same each episode .
Counting cars , dire with truck loads of sticky brotherly love .
Graveyard Carz , that guy is 'kin weird  a Mopar David Brent .

Chasing Classic Cars, Wheeler Dealers, American Hot Rod, and Sin City Motors... Probably in that order. Oh and Ice Road Truckers if I get a chance, although dvd is easier... Highway Thru Hell and Outback Truckers are enjoyable too... That Steve seems to spend the entire time digging his truck out of mud than actually driving it :D
