My first (and only) bike was a Greeves 250cc Villiers twin road bike. Was great to have my first motorised transport. Had to go when first child arrived, (now 53). Never had another bike, :'( :'( so far. :)

53 is the new 43, so get back on 2 wheels & start enjoying the thrill again.
Just don`t forget, it`s now 1 down & 5 up  ;D

;D ;D Excuses, excuses  ::).......... reminds me of the time I asked my great Uncle what it felt  like to be 80 years old. He had a good long think & then in mixed company he said; " Well when I go to sit down now, my balls sit down about half a second before my ass does "   :o

Well it was quite interesting, but too many talking heads and not enough bikes!  ::)

Yes, far too much blather, and worst of all was the taffy doing the voice-over, when all of the bikes were English (not "British", as the title suggests).
When did the scotch or welsh ever make a motorbike?

I love them, but Ive given them up. Too old and knackered for them now.
There is nothing in the realm of four wheels that compares with riding a fast bike on the limit imo. Absolutely nothing.
Makes you feel more alive than anything else can. Which is why its so addictive I suppose.

I agree with you except to say skiing is even more 3 dimensional. My brother has still got his R1 but only uses it on dry warm days.

My neighbour graduated to Japanese bikes having had various British. It was a Honda 250. He took it back as there was so much vibration hecouldnt reach the claimedtop speed. Turned out there was yet another gear. I had a JamesCaptain with just 2 gears at the time.

Would have loved to have tried skiing, but I did to much damage to my right leg when I was 16 for it to be a possibility unfortunately.

It's not for me. I could have both my legs broken here, and save all the silly clothes, cold, travel etc and end up in hospital where the nurses speak English****
