Ride height
« on: 09 April 2018, 14:49:05 »

Having transported a large number of paving slabs in the boot of my Omega, it may be just my imagination but it seems lower at the rear now!
What is the ride height supposed to be on a facelift V6 saloon, please?

Is yours an Elite, with self levelling suspension? Or standard setup?

No, a CDX and I don't know if it's self-levelling or not.

CDX won't have self levelling  :y

It's worth checking the springs, perhaps one has snapped?

Thanks Tunnie, I will check. Would there be any point in converting to self-levelling, even if it were possible?

Depends if you tow a often, or always have boot full.

SL shocks are pricey, I *think* about £150 each these days and a dealer only item. Also need SL pump (to fill up shocks with air to raise them etc)

I have just standard shocks on my Elite, as did not fit SL as even I found them a bit too bouncey/soft.

Ok well, the message is clear - leave it alone!
Unusually, it is raining and far too grotty to go crawling under the car to check the springs right now. If broken, that would be a job for Serek, as I am not equipped to deal with it.
Thanks Tunnie.

Thanks Nige, exactly what I was looking for: I tried searching the Guides, but couldn't find anything.  :y
