Estate Rear Springs

Has anybody got some good recommendations for rear road springs for an Estate without self levelling? Mine has broken the pigtail at the bottom with age and speed bumps and the other side is looking very rusty (always change as a pair anyway).

Mine is a 2.0 but according to EPC they are all the same except for self levelling and sports suspension. I used to get Lejfforder (or however it is spelt) but my local factors seem to be struggling with everything. Have found Killen ones but do not know what they are like.

I have Sachs springs on the rear of my saloon and am happy with them. I would imagine they also cater for estate models.  ;)

The supplier I bought mine from does not have any in stock...

How do you find the Killen springs? Good, bad, other?

Did you go heavy duty or standard?

I went heavy duty, for the following reasons...

1. It firms the back end up (I also fitted poly subframe bushes)
2. You can load the car up without losing drivability.
3. They should be less likely to break from pothole abuse.

No complaints regarding quality and fitting... Although you do have to drop the back of the subframe to fit them as they don't compress to easily. Fronts are also Killen HD and shocks are Sachs all round. Also has Pedders HD topmounts fitted.

Ride height is fine too, car is lightly loaded in pics...

For standard springs, I use Sach (part of ZF, who own Lemforder).  ECP probably cheapest. CP4L (part of ECP) best avoided at all costs, as cock ups take weeks to resolve.

I have THESE on my car. I bought the fronts as well; even with shipping from Germany all four cost less than I could find the rears for here. Made a huge improvement to how the car sits, rides and handles

Is carriage included?
Suitable for 51 Reg 2.6 saloon?

Get your browser to translate it; Chrome automatically offers to do it for you.
Carriage is extra, but isn't particularly expensive. It's not difficult to spend enough for the carriage to be included - adding a £16 heater matrix that I needed to my order pretty much paid for itself :y


Saloons and estate rear springs are different. Saloon ones are cheaper.

Ive only bought from ATP once. I had worse experience with them then TB does with CP4L. I try to avoid them now, despite their keen prices.
Basically, they do the same as many online retailers. They advertise stuff they don't actually have, then give you the runaround when your order doesn't turn up when it should.

I genuinely think you were unlucky. Only had one hiccup with them and they had refunded my money before consulting me... Basically they only had half of a pair of bits and took it upon themselves not to offer an alternative.

I would never use or recommend Allgerman, yet others swear by them... It is what it is I guess  :-\

My experience with ATP differs from yours, Albs; last year I bought their wishbone/drop link/track rod kit from then and it arrived promptly without issue, good quality and a reasonable price.

I have 40 mil killen springs ther very comfy although the back does sit ever so slightly higher

And to throw something else in the mix, the rear donut bushes are original so probably going to change them whilst there, not really interested in poly ones as most my other cars are polybushed so it is nice to have a comfy cruiser (especially around SE London) so was looking at these from the bay of E

Well, many thanks to everyone.

Ordered a pair of HD Killen springs form AGR Automotive on Sunday evening and they arrived in work today.

Must weigh best part of 20 kg the pair and look like they would hold up half a house.

Ordered a pair of standard Febi bushes as if the original subframe bushes are not already shot, they will be with an axle hanging off them and then holding these lumps of metal back into place.

£111 for the pair of springs with DPD next day delivery.
