Zafira A 2.0 DTi service
« on: 11 July 2018, 18:54:44 »

After driving round all day looking at rubbish french cars and other mpv things  :(
got a zafira A 2.0 dti elegance  :y
tidy and well looked after 2003 ,stupidly cheap  :)
(to replace the crapasso)
I need to do a quick service and check over brakes etc before it gets put into service
can i use the trade club 10w40 oil ? the little i have left  ::)
will i get an oil filter from halfrauds ? assume there is only one type ?
halfrauds being round the corner from car and me not footing bill

anything i should check model specific ?

I have a Zaffy-A elegance 2.0DTi

I use TC 10w40 semi in it.

There are 2 different engine variants, and 2002/2003 was the cutover year.  Differences I know of are different electronics on top of the pump, different stat and I think different EGR.  Not sure if that impacts filter.

Do a check on a few sites by car model, say a 2004 one and a 2001 car (so as to avoid cutover period) to see if same filter :)

I'd not use reg, but look up different years.  ECP's part finder by reg is even worse than Halfords IME.

so far seems there is one only
115.2  high x 32 inner x 65mm
can't get halfrauds search to work to check stock
my factors should know, they are pretty good and stock bosch oil filters
i will triangulate my route and call in , need pink anti freeze anyway

apparently From Aug 2001; Engine Code: Y20DTH
and that's off ebay , so it must be true info  :P

All the 100bhp ones are Y20DTH ;). But there are 2 different variants.

Do Halfords still do service parts like filters? Thought they had stopped.

Yes, there's a few service items in a dusty corner of our local store, once you've walked past the Panasonic and Sony HU's with the dustbin lid speakers underneath and the Austin Allegro Haynes manual in the reduced section.

that's 10 horses more than the crapasso then ,not that i will be driving it much , except when it needs fixing  ::)

I quite often pop in for spin on filters for the astra s in the fleet @ 3.99
corsa ones are 10 quid in halfrauds , so they get got at the factors for a fiver  ;D
yes , i am a tight git  :y

the astra g one I have somewhere  :y but the 8v and 16v engine i could do a rebuild without it , it does have good wiring diagrams in though (those pages are well thumbed )

, but there is a haynes for the dirty diesel zafira a and astra g
which would be handy for me because i will have to look at water pump, turbo  etc long term
It's on 105k and very quiet , pulls well ,no leaks at the moment
not many dents either YET  :P
