From the horses mouth...

https://youtu.be/8IB15T1LYiY :y

Sounded like a massive PR exercise to me, in an attempt to conceal the reasons that have been mooted on here.  ???

Personally I have always preferred the American made TV car restoration reality shows, but especially Counting Cars.

That show has some good characters and what they do is far more entertaining, interesting, and real 'meaty' with some great and classic US cars involved.  They are a real heavyweight, and make Wheeler Dealer look like something made for school children! ::) ::)

I prefer Fast and Loud personally as I like the stuff they do

I like F&L too, although I am willing to bet that Richard Rawlings is probably intensely annoying in person (and to work for)! ;D The spin-off, however, I find annoying.

Oddly enough, I thought the technical content (albeit at a very basic level) had increased in the last season of WD, with Ant doing lots of "whiteboard" explanations on how bits of car work..
Probably because he doesn't actually do the work...

Speaking of "not actually doing the work", how many researchers does Brewer have helping him find the cars, and Edd to have detailed dismantling guidance for his workshop efforts?

they wouldn't do one because it is branded vauxhall
If you check back out of all the cars ,none have been Vauxhall
think Mr China does not like the brand ,but happy to work on rubbish ford, citreon VW
the new series (after Edd) did do an opel
and opel did manufacture both omega A (carlton) and omega B

Appears to be something of a trend as Jeremy Clarkson and crew also seem to have a bit of a downer on Vauxhalls.Ok they're not the most desirable dogs danglies but they're easily as good as the rest of the class in their market segment.

The cars a bought a far while before the actual show, then the jobs that need doing are researched, and bolts lossend, etc,  and if my memory is still working Mr brewer has been trading around Bedfordshire for a good few years,,, as for not liking GM products, bet they wouldn't turn down an LC, if the price was right.

Can,t say i,m a fan of U.S. shows of that ilk. Most of the people in front of the camera seem to be a bunch of argumentative, attention seeking ars@holes.

Clarkson's hateful review of the vectra ,back in the day, seriously hurt vauxhall
and Top Gear whilst entertainment became all supercars and not anything to do with what people actually drive  ::)

Time for a new tv show , reviewing everyday cars ,new and used and doing simple common fixes on them
they could call it .......top dealer gear sos rescue  ;D
OK maybe not
it would probably get a following off snackheads   ;D

probably a job for car sausage unless it was an LO (LHD)
those panels do trap water , which GM tin worm loves
so probably a bare metal nut and bolt restore ,which car sos do well
Brewer would "tidy it up" sort a few faults at best .

Not entirely true... They did rate both the Monaro and VXR8  :y

both of which are made by HSV and had Vauxhall badges stuck on,
like omega A (carlton), omega B, Zafira A and zafira  B being Opels with Vauxhall badges stuck on
maybe vauxhall should make a car , something RWD , there would probably be a market for a RWD executive saloon :P

That would now probably involve sticking the headlights on the back of a Peugeot and the tail lights on the front.  ;D
Vauxhall is dead and gone Im afraid.  :'(

Ed China is now doing "how to" videos along with a chap called Al Cox calling themselves BuiltbyMany.Plus writing a series of articles for Practical Classics magazine. They've got a Jag E-type coupe which has been repatriated from America that they're[with the help of others]restoring.
