Short nose vs long
« on: 12 September 2018, 17:42:35 »

I've noticed my '95 elite 3.0 has a short nose plenum and I think the later ones have long nose versions. Apart from the obvious what's the difference.

Better breathing, recall 2.6 would have been better with short. But due to DBW it has to go long.

Fuse19 will explain better   :)

I believe that it's covered in the Multiram guide in faqs ;)

If considering a swap, you'll need the longer throttle cable and possibly some of the egr/sai gubbins...

Too little difference to bother about.

A tad more torque on the Long Nose at low RPM, assuming the Multi Rams are working correctly.

I stuck a long nose on a 2.5 once because I thought it would be a good idea  ;
After all the fannying around, it felt slower  ::)
