well I'm gonna order the cam cover gaskets etc. from a local Vx dealer tomorrow, am hoping to maybe take a day off later this week (probably Thursday as it looks to be rain-free  :o) to change those (my first time doing 'em  :-/). So assuming that goes well, a little 120-odd mile run each way to Brackley could be on the cards ... I'll make sure I've got oil with me just in case !

I'd like to get the gearbox update done, I can bring my V6 locking kit so that means another car can be done at the same time, if the cam cover gaskets don't fix the leak then other opinions on the cause would be welcome  ;)

I'll be bringing my Halfrauds trade card in case it comes in handy  :)

if it hasn't arrived, I have an old spare used one somewhere or other, let me know before too late on friday eh?  you're welcome to it...

Failing that i have a fairly new one on the Sintra, which isn't in use right now...

That way you'll at least be able to ,make the most of the weekend's events...

Thanks for that, MaxV6. I will let you know later in the week. I should have asked around here before ordering one.

Thinking of brake light switches, I wonder if I'll need to change mine? IIRC, the cruise control one has 4 pins and the non-cruise one only 2?

Simply for the idea of a meet up, its a bit of a trek, but might be willing to stretch the beasties legs southwards from Jolly Scotland.  Someone wants to share fuel costs?  Also, like MickDundee, willing to throw a tent up somewhere and doss out under canvas.

You got a big back garden?     ;D ;D ;D

This is getting busy!
Wondering if there's time/space to fit in rocker gaskets & breathers clean as well?

Two cambelt changes (possibly three), rear brakes, a few general health checks......should just about be able to squeeze a set of cam cover gaskets in....

That would be cool & at some point maybe someone with nimble hands can help with changing my climate bulbs....

Excellent.

Come to think of it, I'm missing the little plastic clips that hold the panel above the driver's feet on. If anyone's got a couple of these spare it would be good.

Cheers,

Kevin

I can get the water pump. Just let me know.

Oh and Jaime. That price of £22.50 + vat for the box of oil is correct. I bought a box yesterday. :)

I have just PMd MickDundee and if its OK with him and Jaime and theres time I wouldn't mind a cambelt, water pump and Aux belt oh and a gearbox upgrade :y. I could also help out in disassembling and reassembling after the belts have been done.

Sure you and my dad can catch up.... I remember you from my placement i did when i was at school!

Did you get your discs done in the end? Sure could fit those in too!   :y

Will definitely try to attend both parties - if I'm allowed at yours with a V6...  ;)
Have held off on the discs, because I now know the wishbones need doing (booked for tomorrow). Hopefully that will sort it - though a quick gander at the discs at the weekend probably wouldn't go amiss.

Put me down as a probable - though I expect it'll only be for an hour or two.  I need to pop over to Tunnie's too, to say Hello to his Dad...
