.....will not be Falken 912s due to straght line accuracy, they seem to wonder around esp. on motorways in lane 1 and b roads.Which is most of my commute.

so what to try next? im thinking go up a price bracket or 2 for decent tires as any slight issues seem to really anoy me.

Was really happy with Dunlop sport max 2, i think they where, when i tried them, good straight line handeling, grip and mileage apparently, but realised they where a bit noisy when the falkens went back on.

Anyway, anyone know of a quiet equivelent to the above mentioned dunlops?

Thinking Continental Sports contact II....anyone got them? esp interested in road noise and straght line stability. would think grip and ware rates would be good at that price range.

Dunlop 9090's on mine (and the previous car) and can't fault their grip levels in dry and wet, however they are a little noisy.

Why buy new?

Got a pair of Goodyears here, 235 45 17 with 6mm of tread each tyre, £50 plus £10 postage of Ebay

Checked professionally and both perfectly safe

The one rather poor review i saw on the 2s suggested about 15k miles from them, which seems similar to my 912s at a guess from the current ware rate.

Maybe the 3s are more hard wareing at the expence of some wet grip perhaps??

Cem, tell me/us more re bridgestones, certainly seem to get good reviews, like the sound of the grip but what about  wear and straghtline stability?

 I like a good wang but probably only 2 or 3 corners worth the name on my commute, so not top of my list of prioritys.....but on the other hand, nice have and reveiws seem to say they wear very well, albiet tested on smaller front wheel drive cars like golf gti and astra vxr, talk of 21k from front wheel drive. Not sure how true this is, and would expect more even ware over all 4 on an omega.

Brake distances change..straightline is ok..

and really comfy..  Only I dont know their life period as they are new to me..

But I think there must be a trade off between the life and grip..And not cheap of course :-/

I've got Goodyear Eagle F1's on mine they have been faultless, performance is good in wet or dry endless grip downside they are a bit pricey

My preference is for the Dunlop SP9000/9090 - I reckon on my MV6 they hold on to the road just a little bit more.

Cem, re your Bridgestones, could you estimate your tires mileage?
For instance if your tread is worn half way to the wear markers and you have done 8000miles(or kilometers) that would possibly give 16000 miles/km from your tires.

Unfortunately they are very new and upto now I've done maximum 700-800 kms..so cant estimate..
(I also must note that your roads are better than here
so tire life there will be longer)


I really recommend them..silent , comfy, grippy..And never seen or read any bad news about them..

and interesting :new model BMWs come with potenza RE050

and imho Adrenalin suits streets better..

From what i gather on here, omega left the factory with Michelin primacy....afaik.

Think some had Dunlops D7 or Pirelli P6000.

Contis should work - German car (!!), german rubber.

Equivalent tires with potenzas are pilot sport and pilot sport 2 for michelin.. eagle f1s (asymmetrics are the new model and proven to be very good)
are for goodyear..

but pilot primacies from experience, above average tires..
