Might be worth checking your Lambda sensor as i had one which used to bring on the EML intermittently and was solved when I replaced it, maybe part of your problem. :)

The emissions is due to lpg, not uncommon, the thing thinks its running lean...

No idea, sorry.

Awww  :( I thought you would have a technical reason why they dont come on both together  :-/

The Lambda sensor generates 2.5V at 0.2A over a range of 0.02% to 0.9% of BS gas emissions, so the ECU gets informed through pin 25 (the purple/orange wire) and activates the Overload Detection Circuit which in turn sends a 12V pulse to the EML bulb which then lights up. The Emissions light one the other hand only works when the engine temperature exceeds 243 Kelvin at 32.6% humidity which is why it will never light up together with the EML light. There. Happy now, TD?

IIRC, you're not LPG?  Therefore, probably a real problem.  Get out your trusty paperclip if it happens again...

can highly recomend the take bulb out approach 100% sucessful and not too expensive un less you go to vx who will have to fit a modified ecu to cope with the resistance un-loading created by bulb removal

Yep that was what i was going to do....but as installer told me he had a fix for it.....(got distracted and didnt ask the fix  :( ) im going to ask what it is next time i visit him......could be tomorrow if new lpg filter comes in at vx dealer.....was gonna change it myself but the clips holding it on look a sod to get off....so think i'll pop round and get them to do it  ;)

Dont think i'll go for your second option  ;D
