Climate Control - Technical Info Needed
« on: 21 September 2006, 08:36:04 »

I'm just trying to get my head around the interface between the climate control and the ECU.

There is a 9 pin connector (6 pins used) in the relay box that is for the A/C / climate control.

I've identified the pins as follows:

PIN      COLOUR            DESCRIPTION
01      BROWN/GREY      Secondary Air Intake Relay (Pin 6) & (Simtec ECU Pin 50)
02      BLACK/BLUE      A/C Revolution Acceleration Switch (Simtec ECU Pin 9)
03      BLACK/BLUE      Bulk Head Connector (Pin 17)
04      BLACK/WHITE      A/C Pressure Switch (Simtec ECU Pin 23)
05      BROWN/VIOLET      A/C Compressor Relay (-12v) Bulk Head Connector (Pin 16) (Simtec ECU Pin 34)
06      RED/WHITE      12v+ ECU Relay

So pin 1,2, 4 and 5 all go to the ECU. Pin 1 is useless; I assume pin 5 informs the ECU A/C is switched on, pin 2 informs the ECU the compressor is active and pin 4 tells the ECU the compressor working at nominal pressure?

Now my big problem is I need to find the corresponding three pins on the Motronic M1.5.5 ecu, does anyone have an in-depth knowledge of these systems, I'm slightly dubious about guessing and blowing up my M1.5.5 ecu  ;D

IIRC, the OP is putting in a 2.0 turbo engine into his Omega, hence full ECU swap as well...
