Worrying Rattle
« on: 05 October 2006, 15:07:05 »

Noticed a rattling noise when I started the car this morning, was about to tun off when it stopped, but I turned off anyway. Popped the bonnet & had a look/poke around & nothing seems out of place.
Turned it on again & the rattle was back, it wasn't there for long & seemed to be coming from the aux belt area (I hope it's no further in!).
It hasn't happened since, so I thought I'd ask you guys before I start taking the air intakes out.
Bear in mind the cambelt was done on Saturday, but I did 275 miles yesterday with no problems/rattles.
Cheers.

I've had a good poke around, but the belt is under tension so not easy to tell if it's one of the pulleys.

Check Air-Con Compressor too.  I've got a 2.5TD, and the clutch on the front of the compressor came off the front (wiped out the fan and radiator).
