Central locking

Right, i'm pissed off, central locking does not operate properly, passesnger's door doesn't lock immediately and some times all the doors do whatever they want.Anybody had the same issue? what is the fix?

The usual causes are poor earth and dodgy solenoids Kostas.

Mark can of course give you a super detailed explanation of the system!  ;)

If the passenger door is slow and sometimes works then it's probably a stiff mechanism inside the door. Does the knob feel stiff? ;D

You need to pop the door card off - should be a How To on this. Then lube all the linkages lock, etc, with WD40 then coat with grease.

There are quite a few rods and pivots and inside the door they are exposed to moisture.

My driver's door is perfect now.

I'd start with the passenger door and see if that cures everything. If not I'd visit the drivers door too. Because if that is struggling it will prevent the other door locking.

The switches in the drivers door can cause the doors to lock/unlock unexpectedly, but if you have a specific prob with passenger door, then that is likely to be local to that door (duff solenoid, or seized linkage)
