Tax in the post.......
« on: 26 September 2014, 14:25:22 »

Just paid £285 on line for road tax starting 1st October.

Under the new regulations I don't need to display a tax disk so therefore they won't put one in the post ::)

Really not sure I am comfortable with a system where the penalty for not taxing & insuring is having your car crushed but they can't be bothered to send me something tangible to acknowledge that I have jumped through all the hoops >:(

The DVLA computer will now display the fact to all interested parties you have paid your tax and as you paid online you must have a record of the debit/credit card payment.

So do not worry the ANPR system should not ping on your car. ;)

Computing errors do happen though don't they. But hopefully they'd give you the chance to prove yourself (via bank statement for example) before they crushed your car erroneously  >:(

We will all be in the same position soon , relying too much on technology. I think  the paper disc is best, but it is a good way of making a few more redundant..

Ah, I love that word. Used all the time in IT whenever there's a chance it might go wrong but you don't really want to say that. I.e. all the time..
